The Shaq/Deke what if inspired me to start a thread about "What Ifs" from our past.

What If....Giannis fell to 17 instead of taken at 15? It is fairly common knowledge that we were linked to Giannis before the 2013 draft. Giannis would come with not having Dennis, unless we made a push to acquire 16 (Nogueira got traded to us for 18) or Dennis fell to 18.

From my understanding, I think we were locked in on selecting Giannis and Dennis with those 2 picks. Had Drew not used the scouting reports we had while he was here, we would have our young star and more possibly.

The proactive thing was to trade up to secure giannis which this franchise has never been confused of being.

Too lazy to find it but Cuban was looking to get out of their late lotto pick that year.

With Giannis, Millsap, and Horford, it makes the Hawks into a top 2 team in the east for 7 more years, but ultimately, i don't think its enough to beat Curry/Durant/Green in the finals without some major injuries in the series.
