There is a difference between 19 and 14 but not worth all that imo.

I'm not saying we'd definitely do it. But it would have to be considered. Having three draft picks in the top 20 of this year's loaded draft is worth considering.

NOTE: That Cavs pick is top-10 protected for 2019 and 2020. After 2020 it reverts to second rounders. What are the odds it ends up being more favorable than the 14th pick we're currently negotiating for from Cleveland?

Cavs would have to be idiots to let that pick convey to us at 11, 12, 13 or 14. And either way, we could add that protection onto the pick so it would come to us if ends up being in the lottery.

If we are trading for pick #14 alone that changes what you pay for. Attaching Faried devalues how much the Hawks should pay. The difference in Faried's negative deal plus the cost to move up 5 spots isn't worth the Cavs pick.

Edit: saw your later post back tracking the Cavs pick

^Yep. I have to admit...it would've been foolhardy to give up that much in trade for this year's #14.
