REALLY?! *panic thread

Post#1 » by Robo_Claw » Fri Jun 22, 2018 1:39 am

This is unreal. My worst case draft scenario was better than what is happening right now. What are we doing? I was skeptical about Schlenk before but now I feel 100% he had nothing to do with golden states success. I’m pissed, someone talk me off a ledge...must be a silver lining somewhere?

Most of Trae's weakness can be fixed with refinement and the weight room. Easy fix if he is willing to work and is teachable. .I am scared that doncic's weaknesses are not as easy to fix . They are also issues that wont effect him in the euroleague, but i think will be much bigger issues in the nba. Doncic will still be good bc he is special..but I don't see him as a superstar. Trae wont bust. He will be good and we got a first rounder with it..

Ever wonder why the West is so strong and the east sucks so bad, why the West has so many great MVP caliber players and the east are full of pretender players................ this is why!

Pacer fan here. Remember a year ago when EVERYONE couldn't believe the Pacers would trade Paul George for just Oladipo & Sabonis.
Well that worked out just fine for the Pacers.

The 76ers traded an extra future #1 to move up to draft a guy that sadly lost his ability to shoot somewhere between getting picked #1 and training camp. The guy they didn't take was a ROY candidate for Boston.

The ROY, Donovan Mitchell was picked 13th by Denver.
THEN traded to the Utah Jazz for the 24th pick (Tyler Lydon) and Trey Lyles OUCH !!! :banghead:

YOU NEVER KNOW and neither does everyone else.

Atlanta got Trae Young and likely an extra lottery pick next year out that #3 pick. Hawks probably will do just fine with that.

Can anybody else think of draft day trades like this?

I remember...

Bucks and Wolves swapped picks with Murbury and Ray Allen, the lower team won that trade

Warriors and Magic swapped Webber and Hardaway, i think Orlando won that trade

Warriors and Raptors swapped Jamison and Carter, the lower team won that trade

Mavs and Bucks swapped Robert Traylor and Dirk, Dallas won that

Are there any other examples?

Just for the sake of your argument:

Kawhi was traded to the Spurs
Love was traded to Minnesota
2006 saw Roy and LMA get traded to the Blazers

2001 : VAN go from Abdur-Rahim to 3 and get Gasol (ATL get Abdur-Rahim+Wright+Knight)
2007 : POR go from 4+Khyrapa to 2 and get Aldridge (CHI get Tyrus Thomas + Khyrapa)
2005 : UTA go from 6+27 to 3 and get Deron Williams (POR get Webster+Kleiza)
2011 : SAS go from Hill to 15 and get Leonard (IND get Hill)
2017 : UTA go from 24+Lyles to 13 and get Mitchell (DEN get Lydon and Lyles)
...
still searching a trade where the team going up or trading for a pick they don't have is loosing the trade...

If you had seen Oladipo and Sabonis play before, you couldn't be sure but there were great odds it would be a good trade.
Anywayn, it was a great move, here in ATL, stars of the team were letting go for nothing like Horford, Millsap, even Josh Smith should have brought something back.

Thanks for the kind words, Lazlo.

You guys might have a few more fans this year. :)

I've long coveted Oladipo and it's nice to see him have such a great year for a franchise/fanbase that's truly deserving.

Aaron Holiday was a helluva pickup, too. Here's hoping you guys make top-4 next postseason.

Update: Trae is good at basketball.
