So minutes of Baze, Prince and Carter went down tonight - by 10 or 5 minutes . Taurean scored 28 points in 23 minutes on 10-15 shooting

PT for Huerter, Bembry and Plumlee and Len went up - by 10 or 5 minutes

Trae was 7-18 but 4-9 3 ptrs and two FTs for his 20 points

None of other PGs in draft (or Luka) have gotten even close to Traes assist numbers so far

Lin was sluggish when he first came in, but to be fair to him, he's just coming back from major injury and I think Pierce should try to play him 6-7 minutes straight instead of the 3-4 minutes bust and sub him out. It's hard to get into rhythm like that. Maybe it's Lin getting tired fast. I don't know.

Lin did better in the second half when he got to play continuously for like 6 minutes to end the game.

Dude's doing fine, especially coming back from his injury. He's working himself back into the speed of the NBA, and he has to learn to trust his body. His PER is right where it should be, so he's filling up the boxscore. He's just not in the game long enough to make an impact, negatively or positively. I agree with you, I think longer stretches would be better for him as well, but it doesn't really matter, this team is on the rebuild. Looks like the Hawk's front office made the right choice. Trae looks great for a rookie playing PG, the hardest position to master. They'll probably get an additional lottery pick from Dallas next year, and as The Process has taught us, you need as many picks as possible, to hit the gems. Atlanta got a 2 for 1 lottery ticket, well played Schlenk.

Agreed. Him staying in Memphis only solidified the fact he'll remain underrated for his entire career.

Him being traded to PHX for Ryan Anderson, D Melton, TJ Warren And change feels like move that needs to happen for both franchises.

He’s too injury prone. Hasn’t he missed more games than he’s actually played in the last 3 years?

So far, the defense at SG - eeeech.

THjr couldn't be stopped. Garret Temple a less than 10ppg average player over the course of his career went nuts for 30 points. :banghead:

Who's gonna be the next SG that goes for 30+ points?

Cavs up tomorrow - JR Smith or Jordan Clarkson - who you got?

This looks like the worst defensive unit in all of basketball atm, but when you have to start Vince Carter at PF that's somewhat expected.

As mentioned, the wins and losses don't necessarily matter much this season, seeing Trae Young have a good game is the main win I'm looking for. 20 and 9 including a microwave type first quarter heat up is nice to see, but I'd just like for him to get that FG% up into the 43-44% range. His defense isn't awful either, he's really trying out there.

The defense should settle down a bit when Collins and Dedmon make their returns, and Trae Youngs assist numbers should shoot up with them back as well. There have been plenty of great passes by Young which were wasted because of missed open shots by his teammates in the first two games.

I'm also down to give Kevin Huerter a G-League stint. He's not getting minutes to aid in his development, and even when he is he doesn't look ready to be out there yet.

So I fell asleep around half-time.

Trae was doing well before the half, what happened after?

With Baze and Prince, I thought the wing defense should be good. Getting killed by Garrett freaking Temple? TMJ isn't very good but he is streaky. 10/11? Travesty!

OTOH, JJJ is looking real good, reminds one of Bosh.

Their other starters didn't even break a sweat.

Parsons looks a bit better, they can make some noise if he's OK.

Whatever happened to Casspi's J? It used to be pretty good, bad influence from Draymond?

SloMo is great for their bench, such a good passer and defender.

First it was 49 2nd quarter points, now this is 77 1st half points. Well, I guess the only way to go is up now!

There's a reason Len was thought of as a bust, he's got concentration issues, he's not perfect, more suitable from the bench.

Traeurean was a good combo offensively. Prince's passing is clearly a work in progress. With Collins and Dedmon back, this should be pretty exciting.

Got a glimpse of TraeLin, Lin's clearly not there, but it has a lot of potential. Trey is superb spotting up, Lin is still pretty good penetrating and dishing.

Hope this team gets its act together by the home games! These are three very good learning opportunities (re-learning for Lin?), especially on the defensive end.

The Cavs have a vet team with finals experience, won't be easy. They are not tanking, have lost twice, home opener. Baby step: no giving up 49 quarter, 77 half!

Thanks for the honesty.
