I love Coach Pierce. He really was the perfect hire.

It's interesting you should say that, because his predecessor is coming to town on Sunday.

We need our new guy to have his team more prepared this time.

^since it's LP and Philly, I couldn't resist.
(coincidentally, it's very relevant to the upcoming MLK Day Thread pregame post, which is happily near a final draft. coming soon!)

Respect to Huerter!

But the win doesn't help and puts Atlanta further and further away from getting Cam, Bol, or Zion :banghead:

Huerter is a stud, he's already a 2 way player at such a young age.

Actually Bol should be pretty easy to get from where we are as the 3 duke boys should go 1, 2, and 3 right off the bat. Then you got Little and Langford that will probably go next and Bol Bol is around the 7th to 10th pick. We honestly could come away with 1 of the 3 duke guys + Bol Bol if we get some luck with the Mavs pick or with a trade up with it like Mavs pick + Prince to get back into the top 5 to 6.

I want him to realize he’s playing great. He got the Joe Johnson Stone face out there Huerting folks.

You see the bad stories of fathers trying to mold their kids into athletes too young, that football story I can’t think of right now but they had a 30 and 30 on comes to mind. Kevin’s dad should write a how-to on helping your kid develop into a pro athlete. Everything he does on and off the floor attests to proper teaching. Him and his dad probably hunt and play chess and sh@t. I don’t think he’s coming back next season with a full arm band tattoo.

Yeah, and wtf Ben talking about? I’d have to watch again but it seemed like he disappeared late. Bem must’ve had him locked up, I had my attention on Velvet late. Never felt that Wilson Chandler dude and playing McConnell 34 minutes ain’t ideal. Their depth looks like sh@t compared to last year with Illy, Belli, Saric, and Covington. If Embiid plays we probably get rolled but I’ll take it. Here’s hoping Giannis is still out making Sunday much more competitive. He’s the only forward who makes Johnny look his age.

The plan for this year was to develop the young players and get the best possible pick. Our 20 year old SG could not be stopped, and our 21 year old PF hit the go ahead basket. I won't complain 1 bit about draft position when we win on the backs of these guys.
But if this was Baze and Dedmon, we'd have a problem.

As the trade deadline approaches, Hawks are getting interest in some veterans. Stay alert..

Who will get who? and, what or who will the Hawks get in return?

This.

No need to play the losing game. Just let the chips fall where they may.

What I like about last night's game, besides Huerter's heroics is that nobody got in Huerter's way or tried to heroball in forcing shots. The execution was beautiful. The facilitators on the floor played both ends, the guys moved on offense and defense. The rebounders allowed no easy tip-ins after the 2nd Butler intentionally missed FT. Getting out of the way of the guy that has it going and making supporting moves on both ends can leading to winning team basketball.

That's one thing I love about this team. They do a great job of supporting each other and celebrating each other's successes. That's a good culture and environment to have during a rebuild.
