Starting to lose hope that Prince can play in this league...He should be on the trade block for sure.

When Vucevic gets paid he needs to kick back a few million to the Hawks. His personal stat inflator.

Which player just played their last HOME game in a Hawks uni?
Next 7 games on the road. Next game at home will be trade deadline day.

What did you suggest we trade for Vucevic?

Can’t remember. But I do recall your exact response:
“Vooch? EWWWWW.”

Lin, and maybe just him tbh. Maybe Dedmon if we get a pick out of itjayu70 wrote:Which player just played their last HOME game in a Hawks uni?

I'd give him a couple more games, his injury was pretty bad. Remember how Lin looked in the beginning? Much better now.

Re: MLK Game Thread: Magic at Hawks, 01/21/2019
Team seemed flat in that second half after leading for most of the first half. Trae had one of the most efficient scoring games of his season, even though he didn't hit a 3. Huerter was definitely missed, but these matinee games throw a wrench into the energy of the building - I've never been a fan of them.

Great lose today! Letting the Magic win now moves the Mavs to 7th in the lottery.

I still don't see Vooch as a good fit. He is 28 and an impending free agent so he doesn't seem to fit our timeline well. He has never driven the team to significant wins in Orlando and is a soft defender who will likely clog spots on the floor on offense that JC will want to operate in. If he wins us games in the short-term that isn't particularly good since I see this as potentially our last best chance for an elite draft pick if our young guys develop the way we hope (and the way a number of them have shown so far). He puts up nice counting stats so he is likely to inflate his next salary above his actual value (given that scoring gets frequently overly weighted in FA over efficiency).
I'd rather sign him as a FA this offseason if we really want him.

I was referring to our conversation last summer before Dedmon excercised his player option and before Len was signed. That trading for Vooch then would’ve been a good short term stop gap. Not a good option now at this stage.

I didn't like it because I thought the team needed to lose this season and that he would lead to some empty Bobby Sura type wins. Nothing enough to help us contend for the playoffs but enough to make us Magic-like.

I didn’t foresee him having as good a year as he’s had.

For the last 5 years, he has been roughly a 20 point and 11 rebound guy per 36. He is having a career season but it is only a single step function better than his normal season (a bit better shooting, a couple more points and another rebound with the normal non-factor on D).

You still haven't said what the Hawks should have traded for his $12.7 mil. Orlando was/is probably looking for a 1st.
