I see him as a more athletic Rodney Rogers with less shooting. Work with that.

I did the Rogers comparison last year. Now I think he’s LJ met Rogers and had a super baby named Zion!
Hilarious!

Thankfully.it's not serious.

Is the Nike brand the way to go?

With Zion, it was always Adidas. Adidas been overly wanting Zion and been sponsoring Zion since his Sophomore year
How much do you believe Adidas intends on paying him? They need a face like Zion. Under Armour too.

Who's Rodney Rogers?

I snark out of love, Kidd-Gilchrist 01. I'm just a big Zion believer. MAYBE because I don't watch ESPN so have missed some of the hype train. I'm not totally sure he's a #1 option on offense, but I believe his upside is something like Blake with DPOY ability. Easy #1 for me, Anthony Davis level player.

EDIT: OH! I KNOW ROGERS. He was a Deac too! I can see it a little bit actually. Zion has a little more fluidity IMO.

"Intends on paying"? Seems to imply they haven't been paying him all along.

This conversation is disingenuous until it's acknowledged that adidas has been paying him/his family for multiple years.

They haven't, they are just the sponsors of his AAU and HS team and have sponsored Zion for years. Been recruiting him with Harden, Trae and others over the years and recently

It'll be the ones next to the Williamson estate. Oh wait, that won't work. They're in a luxury compound in Durham ... somehow.

Not even sure I'm knocking them for it, honestly. Capitalism is capitalism. Just don't act like it's not happening.

My understanding is that if we let guys walk who probably aren’t in our long term plans, then we will have 1 Max this off season. The following season we should have enough cap room for 2 max deals.

3 Tiers of Max Contracts:
0-6 years of experience - 25% of salary cap.
7-9 years of experience - 30% of salary cap.
10 years+ of experience - 35% of salary cap.

2019 - $109 million salary cap
2020 - $118 million salary cap

Return to Atlanta Hawks
