My question is why are Hawk fans so obsessed with Dallas' draft pick. Especially in a 2 man draft which Dallas' pick will not help us obtain? Yeah maybe we can pick a guy that will be better than Baze but we can also sign someone better than Baze. We need to focus on getting this group better which will help us in the future. I'm on the official resign Dedmon campaign!

So we don't have to worry about that pick after this year. This is a good draft, there are flawed players but there's a lot to like across the lottery and beyond. The results from these last 8 games have little impact on our teams future, so I'd like us to have as good a chance as possible of moving up in the lottery and retaining the Mavs pick. As much as I've been pro-tanking, I've always said that we should be ready to compete after this year if we drafted properly.

Honestly I am just as happy with Len on the floor at this point in the season. He has made big time improvements thru the season and his presence is felt on the floor. I fear Dedmon is gonna get one of those Bazemore contracts as a reward from another team

This draft isn't good at all! Even the top two have question marks and they are the only sure fire NBA players in this draft.

How can you say that absolutely? You never know what any of these players will turn into. Chances are pretty low they will be Lebron, Michael, etc, but because draft experts say this class isn't good, doesn't mean any of the players can not turn into a generational talent. That's why Travis wants as many shots at the lottery as he can while we are rebuilding. You could pick the next Giannis, PG13, or K. Leonard with the Dallas pick. Who knows?

Just saying don't get your hopes up...It ain't the end of the world if we don't have a 2nd lottery pick this year. I'm going to worry about the players we currently have not the players not on the team yet

I honestly think this draft has produced two superstar level talents. You'd have to be a racist to ignore what Doncic had done in Euro basketball to not know he was going to be a superstar in the NBA. Trae Young is just unreal. This kid is the real f'ing deal. He's already had the best single game performance I've ever seen by a Hawks player.

If he is a superstar talent like his play had s warranted that consideration to be then we all win as fans.

You're almost there, saphron. Almost ...

I almost gave his post an AND 1.. just felt like the Doncic envelope was being shoved down my throat again.

It is very simple. Doncic's talent level was so evident that anyone that paid any attention to what he did knew that kid was a superstar already. Young has now played himself into a superstar level this season. One guy was a given while the other guy earned it. I'm not saying Doncic hasn't earned it by hard work and bball IQ, you know what I mean.

I'm not sure why that keeps you from liking what I post or not.

It would not be a drama to not get the DAL pick, but I don't like the idea of decreasing our chances and increasing DAL chances by getting a better record than them. Hope ATL stays at 5th and DAL at 6th or even a bit higher if MEM can pass them.
And I would prefer to get two picks this year, especially if we have a shot at signing a star and another great players this summer, more than our pick this year, and a 15th pick next year because I'd bet that DAL will improve a lot (without big injuries) by getting great F.A.

I would prefer to have the pick and be free to do what you want... and this DAL pick could be used in a trade, alone or with our pick ;-)

I personally thought your initial response to last night’s game thread shouldn’t have mentioned anyone but Trae and the Hawks, after all we weren’t playing the Mavs or anything. Just my opinion.

We're getting enough shite on the General Board for 'being insecure about the trade and mentioning 'him' in every game thread'.
How about praising Trae on his own merit for what he is doing without making any comparisons. It's unnecessary.

This is so nasty. And he makes it look so easy, that it largely goes unappreciated.

The passing insticts, timing and just plain balls to make this pass, just has me in awe.

Philly’s Saturday loss to the Hawks highlighted an ongoing issue for Brett Brown’s club: struggles to defend pick-and-roll-playmaking guards.

Trae Young continued his second-half surge, torching the Sixers on Saturday to the tune of 32 points on 11-for-20 shooting and creating 28 more via assist. The rookie’s ability to put pressure on defenses with the threat of his quick-trigger long-range shot and his gift for puncturing coverages with pinpoint passing had Philly looking out of sorts all night long, opening the door to whatever kinds of looks the Hawks wanted; Atlanta knocked down 15 3-pointers and scored 66 points in the paint, four off its season high.

To be fair, Atlanta’s been better than you might realize of late, going 7-9 since the All-Star break with a solidly middling net rating.

Still: The Hawks are not a good team, but their success in the pick and roll is nothing new for Philadelphia opponents. Brown tried just about every perimeter-defending option he had against Young, and the Sixers just kept coming up empty, unable to get the initial stop or string out the play with sharp help rotations.
