I think we're ignoring that the trade gives us a good shot at another top 10 next year. That's huge for a rebuilding team.
If I remember right, all the commentators covering the draft that year, except Barkley, was saying they think that we should get Marvin. I also...said Marvin, but honestly, I didn't really do any research that year..i just said Marvin bc everyone but Barkley said it was the right thing to do.. I just believed the hype. Smh..i actually care enough to research and make informed decisions now.

Hey Hawks fans, I'm a huge Trae fan, fell in love with his game last November and watched every game he played after that. You guys got a great player. I'm looking forward to following the Hawks and Trae starting now.

As I've been saying since late January, Trae is going to have an easier time in the NBA than in college on the offensive side of the ball. I doubt NBA teams will be double teaming him as soon as he crosses over half court. I also doubt he'll be stuck with an entire team full of guys who suck like he had to deal with the entire conference season at OU. He's an amazing playmaker and I can't wait to see him playing with actual NBA players on the receiving end of his passes.

And the way he shoots, his nickname should be The Cheat Code.

GO HAWKS! (actually hoping you do really bad this year so you can get another high draft stud to add to the lineup)

Thanks for the kind words. I think we can find a spot for you on the Trae-wagon. On nicknames, sounds like the Migos have dubbed him 'Ice Trae' so I guess we gotta ride with that til' it gets obnoxious.

Aye, you guys happy with your own picks this year? Admittedly, I've been calling Carter the second coming of Kurt Thomas mixed with Taj Gibson but, other than that, the Bulls look to be building an interesting squad.

I think we got the right guy at #7, but I'm livid with the team for how poorly they tanked this year. No excuse for not ending up with a top 3 lottery chance.

Honestly, I didn't like it at first but it's growing on me.

When was the last time a Hawk was really nickname-worthy anyways. One of the fun asides to this dealy is we might actually get the undeserved national tv games off this dude. How fun and out of the ordinary (for the Hawks) will that be?

It was pretty cool to see him in that Foot Locker commercial with Lavar. Actually hilarious.

I remember the majority of commentators and analyst saying the same thing Dick Vital was say about Hawks should take Chris Paul.

I remember a few people saying the same thing as Vitale and I remember that conversation starting early in the season. It's one of the reasons why I zeroed in on Chris Paul - that and he was so high on all the draft boards before his stock dipped due to height.

Man... Could you imagine a CP3/JJ backcourt? Super fantasy too, but hear me out! What if....

We had actually tanked all of 03/04 instead of letting Sura and Co. play us out of lottery position. Say we luck up and get Dwight.

Smoove still falls to us at 17. Still a terrible team right? Smoove and D12 bricking shots and tearing up back boards. We'd have been terrible. Now we end up picking 2-4 and we select CP3 in the 2005 draft. Which, would have made sense to anybody but BK....now FAcy 2005, throw that max offer at JJ...

CP3, JJ, Smoove, D12 :o

Yeah I know  but I have played out that scenario over and over in my head since passed on Cp3 and then signed JJ in 2005.

My first ever post on this forum! Had to give it a bump.

Only thing I was wrong about was saying that NBA teams wouldn't double Trae as soon as he got over half court. That actually started happening this year in the second half of some games after Trae went on a tear.

Glad you guys welcomed me here with open arms, it's been a great season talking with everyone here about my favorite player and my new favorite team. Looking forward to spending the next 15-20 years with you guys as we watch Trae's very long HOF career all with the Hawks!

Man was I super wrong about Schlenk's vision. I was lukewarm on Trae until I saw his passing early in the season... That's when I realized, our staff might know what their doing...a little bit.

FEIW... I also purposefully err on the side of negativity when it comes to the Hawks. For some damn reason, this team trends exactly the opposite of my attitude

So, totally gonna end up with the 7th and 9th pick in this upcoming draft

Return to Atlanta Hawks
