I honestly thing this should be a voidable offense on any contract. It's so dumb and so dangerous that it shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for someone who paid you that much money. Which in turn should be enough to keep you out of situations like this quite easily.

It absolutely should not be a voidable offense. That's absurd.

I think he's just lamenting the fact it's so easily avoidable...and potentially a life altering mistake.
In LA, you can get an Uber Black in like 10 minutes. But driving drunk can literally lead to your death or worse...someone else's.
Don't abuse women and kids.
Don't drive while intoxicated.
These seem pretty easy to avoid at this point. And not heeding this advice can literally ruin your life.
Just ask former Hawks PG Mookie Blaylock.

You could die just getting in a car or leaving the house for that matter. Nobody died. It's a misdemeanor. You can't just void contracts because of a moral high horse. The law does not work on "could have". If you start voiding contracts for minor infractions of the law, you've basically eliminated all pro sports. Thankfully they have good unions that don't let uppity fans decide their employment.

No, Duffman. No.
People are killed everyday by drunk drivers in this country.
And it doesn't need to happen. Particularly not to a millionaire.
There is no excuse for endangering the public and risking his livelihood with reckless behavior.
There is no defense for driving drunk in this day and age.

You're arguing it from a morality standpoint. People die every day from animal attacks too. Nobody died in this scenario, so it is irrelevant. It's a traffic violation.

100% fully agree on this and also completely disagree with Duffman on this one. If that means im uppity because i want people to not be that dumb and take responsibility for drunk driving then so be it i'll be uppity and be proud of it. Also think it should be a much bigger offense than a misdemeanor.
