You've arrived when you make the cover of SLAM magazine. Before things migrated online, SLAM was THE magazine for hoops fans. I still have several packed away somewhere along with some Athlon basketball preview mags. I feel bad that Trae's amazing season is getting lost in the losing and the hoopla over the other guy. Trae is playing at an elite level, but the fans seem a bit jaded. Hawks fans really need to appreciate what we have here right now because it can be gone before you know it.

“I’ve had a couple people in games, when they’re guarding me or in a deadball, they’ll whisper, they’ll come over and just talk to me and be like ‘You’re a bad m-f,’” Young said. “It’s just respect. It’s a respect thing. When you get trapped the way I do, guarded the way I do, for me, it’s a sign of respect and I embrace it.
So Young brushes off his success on an individual level. Those losses, when I play good, stick with me. Because I hate that feeling when I play good individually, numbers-wise, but we don’t win. Because you can’t enjoy it, especially if you’re a competitor like me.”
Still, Young expects more of himself. With his size (6-foot-1, 180 pounds), Young often struggles on defense, and he’s averaging five turnovers a game.

“You can do a lot more,” Young said. “It’s crazy to say, it’s crazy to hear, but that’s just the realness. I think I can do a lot more. And whether it’s sliding over and taking charges on big men while they’re rolling, doing something. I can do more. I’ve just got to figure it out and find a way. I’ve got to figure it out and our team has to do a better job of figuring it out, too. We’ll get it right.”

any updates on Trae? How long has this been going on. The last game he played he looked fatigued, was lacking lift on his jumper. Announcer even commented on it. Now I think that was probably hammy related and not fatigue.

Looking at the schedule they play Tuesday and then not again till Friday. Could be another situation where they sit him out tomorrow to take advantage of a week of rest.

As bad as the Hawks look without him, I hope he stays out another game. Hamstrings don't usually heal that fast. Hawks need him at 100%.

I'm fine with him sitting out to rest any injuries. Our team may look bad with him out but it can help our young players to improve so there are positives.

1. Ja Morant
2. Trae Young
3. SGA

Ja has elite two way potential, I just question his volume shooting and biomechanics.

Trae can be the best offensive player ever but I question his decision making and defense

SGA can put up stats and has the ability to be a highly versatile weapon, I question his impact and shooting potential.
