Murmurs that Covington could be a target in GSW, which on its own isn't especially meaningful, but at least affirms that there's some suspicion that the Rockets might make one of Lloyd Pierce's favorite students available for the right price. Definitely believe there's reason to expect Hunter to get some older brother figure added to the roster, sharing minutes with him at the 3. If Morey takes interest in getting a real 5, the easy trade would be Covington for Dedmon, though the downside is that Covington's 2021-22 salary, unlike Dedmon, would potentially get in the way of a big free agent signing. That, I think, would be a really difficult pill for Schlenk to swallow. But it's hard to deny that Covington would be an instant fit in every other way.

Houston ain't trading Robert Covington for free to any team much less the Warriors. This is Warriors porn at best.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
