I thought I saw where they were about 16th in def effencicy, I guess now it's 24 or so.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Re: Game Thread: Hawks @ Brooklyn Pt 1
The starting lineup was in the game, all in positive +/-, the bench a bit less with +/- from -4 to -10
Exactly the opposite for BKN with all starters in negative excepted Durant (+1), and bench guys in positive (+7 to +11)
Key of the game : ATL had a better starting lineup, BKN had a even better bench
If I'm not wrong (not sure it was after 3 games, maybe 2), we were 118.1 and 106.8, and now 120.9 and 113.2 (if ESPN is correctly updated after this game) which leads to the 7th best Efficiency difference (were 3rd before)

Re: Game Thread: Hawks @ Brooklyn Pt 1
very happy with the game last night. To me, it showed that we belong on the court with that team. Couldn't say that year.
At the end, we couldn't close it out. Youth and inexperience showed through.
Also, was Capela always like this? I thought he was an athletic big. He's more lumbering than athletic. And much worse offensively than I thought.

Heck of a game. Hard to even think of it as a loss.
I would like to think a healthy Gallo would have helped the bench.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point.

I’ve had to rewind Rondo making regular passes cuz he puts that old British on them so lovely.
It’s really a thing of beauty. Having huge a$$ hands doesn’t hurt with his little knuckle curve balls too.
I guess I never appreciated Rondo before because...well I hated him, hated the fact that he was on the Celtics. We worked Rondo out about 15 years ago with Randy Foye and Marcus Williams from UConn in a workout, I have some picture from a young Rondo in some Hawks workout gear. We went with Shelden. Ugh. Rondo might have made for a different rebuild for us then had we gone that route.
Happy to have him. High dimes in low minutes.

One of the best second jump guys in the league no doubt. Collins and Bagley do this well. Here though he jumps early and kinda hangs and waits. I love watching this duo work.

Even if Shelden was a bad pick, I think we lost on Rondo by having fear of PHX matching Joe offer, and setting instead a sign & trade that cost us Diaw and the pick of Rondo

I remember that, man those were some tough times to be a Hawks fan. Billy Knight, Marvin instead of Chris Paul, Sheldon instead of quite a few good names, the way overpaid contract of Joe Johnson and the list could go on and on. We couldn't even get an over the hill Shaq.

Not really happy with Capela right now, looks like damaged goods. I'd probably work on a 5 year deal with Collins to be the center and try to find an elite defensive 4/5. Onyeka may be that guy actually.
Other than Capela everyone looks like they are on their game and continual self improvement.

More names on injury report for game 2. No Rondo, Hunter questionable.
