Rip2137 wrote:Panda, what are you talking about. He is standing there in the video, hands behind his back not resisting when two officers yank him in one direction then another set of officers yanked him in the other direction which leads them to pounce. At no point did he resist here. Their police report says he resisted when being arrested...you clearly have video showing he didn't. They also say Pero interfered while they were trying to take down Thabo. You CLEARLY see that didn't happen. The only question remaining and what is missing is if they were justified in arresting them.

Ok, great, what I said is still 100% correct. You see AFTER the handcuffs, you have not seen anything BEFORE the handcuffs, you are taking half of the information and make a complete decision. How do you know he didnt fight them just before the cuffs were put on? If he gave them trouble and resisted before the cuffs went on, then he resisted with the cuffs on, your absolutely right they would forcibly put him on the ground.

You guys are looking at 1 cell phone camera and assuming A TON. Theres still 10-15 minutes of stuff we havent seen that could 100% back up what the officers said.

The video picks up with Thabo standing over Pero who is on the ground with officers on them already. YOu have ZERO idea what lead to THAT point of the arrest but you are assuming everything. How did Pero wind up on the ground? Why where their officers around them to begin with? Did they disobey 6 times?

“When I approached the defendant to place him under arrest for the above described conduct, I observed the defendant flail his arms, twist his body, kick his legs, and struggle against me making it difficult for me to place handcuffs on him and complete the arrest. It took four officers to place the defendant in handcuffs.”

You DO realize this is what you are watching a video of, right? So you realize this is not what happened in the video? How is looking at something not matching up with a police report "playing lawyer".

Again, the police report states he resisted arrest after charging a officer and Pero interfered and was "menacing" while the 4 officers were arresting Thabo. The only question is if he charged a officer which led to the arrest. This part, as told in the police report, is simply not true.

I get it, you want to take the police report at its word, but you can't realistically be looking at actual footage of part of the incident being completely misrepresented in the police report and say "well yeah but we still don't know anything." I KNOW that part of the police report is simply not true. What led to this, we don't know but this calls into question the honesty of the officers if I know a portion of their story is untrue.

I gotta tell you man, this is just back and forth where we are basically saying the same thing.

I KNOW this only shows half of what happened. But the HALF that is shown and the HALF of the police report show that that HALF of the police report simply not true.

How's this. If I tell you first I drew a banana and then I drew an apple. Then you see the second half the video of what I claimed to have happened and I draw a orange. I very well could have drawn an banana before that, but what you do know is that I didn't draw apple second.

That's all I am saying man. We know the 2nd half of that report is simply not true. Thabo very well could have charged a officer and deserved to be arrested. But as they were putting him in cuffs, he did not resist as the police report says and Pero did not grab a officer to interfere with them taking Thabo down. I am simply commenting on what is right there in front of us.

Unless of course you think Thabo was put in cuffs, then taken out of cuffs and this shows a second time he was cuffed and taken to the ground that was not detailed in the police report. And I don't believe that is what you are saying.

If you're a giant black guy at the scene of a violent crime at 4 in the morning actively ignoring orders from the police to evacuate the scene...

Things are NOT going to turn out well.

ESPECIALLY when the NYPD is involved. It ain't Oklahoma City.

It's not exactly a secret that cops and African-Americans are very distrustful of one another.

Nothing good happens at 4AM.

I think a lawyer will have a hard time proving that the cops went out of their way to injure him. The real question is why Sefolosha did not receive any medical care. That you can prove by evidence that he asked for assistance of a injury caused by a cop that was ignored. I can imagine it's not a hard case to prove that he was injured to the point where he had to ask for help and the cops refused his pleas.

Nope. Just the guy who got his leg broken by the police. Pero walked away unscathed. Defiant, but still playing.

I find it funny we are just going to assume they were defiant. Just as I don't know if they were complete victims of police overreaching, you guys don't know if ANYTHING in that police report was accurate.

You don't see lebron out at 4am in w club.

Where's their security?

Why are you talking down on folks as if you're some great thinker of which the world has never seen the likes of?

You're trying to use arguably the best player in the league as an example of model behavior in an attempt to make Sefolosha out to be guilty for being out too late. But you know absolutely nothing about how LeBron James lives his life.

Thats what i thought.

My only point is like Barkely said, Im not telling them HOW to live their lives ,but when you go out at THAT hour in THAT city, bad things can happen. If they were home asleep in their hotel room, that doesnt happen.

Dont act like going out late at night doesnt increase the risk of bad **** happening

He doesnt do it. thats the point. When he does, its after he wins a ring.

Im not asking Pero and Thabo to BE LBJ, im just saying, I would expect a little more forward thinking considering what is at stake for this team.

I never said be at home knitting socks and baking cookies. But, you are an idiot if you think that going out that late in that city is like me going to Kroger at 3pm to buy groceries. Maybe go out AFTER the season? Not on a BACK TO BACK?

People are arguing just to argue. Everyone knows that the chances of bad **** happening goes up exponentially after 11pm.

There are literally hundreds of other examples of Lebron's "late night" partying out there. Due to the NBA work schedule, most (all?) of these incidents would be well after midnight. More to the point, these guys don't work 9-5 jobs--midnight for NBA players would be your 7 p.m. Do you go home and sleep at 7 p.m. every night? I thought not. Neither should these guys--I mean, what are you, their dad?

Finally, I'm from New York City. The area these guys were in is very safe, even at 4 a.m. Obviously, on this day, it wasn't safe enough--but then again, bad things can happen ANYWHERE.
RIP magnumt--you're literally why I'm still here on these boards.
RIP The Hater--keep up the good fight in the great beyond.
