Forgot to mention - I noticed Prince has got himself a nice new set of teeth. When you got money to burn might as well look good doing it.
Dennis got him some last season.
Which leads me to - why hasn't 'The Brow' fixed his jacked up teeth?

Everyone operates on their own time. Jeffrey took like 7 years before he fixed his so leave Predator be.

Re: Taurean Prince
this is a clear victory for the player development coaches here at Hawks University:
They deserve all the credit in the world for this kid's emergence.
Bodes well for the rebuild should we keep this coaching staff in tact moving forward...

Re: Taurean Prince
One of the more insightful, better written pieces by MC.
And the same topic broached again by Fox Sports:
myAJCBig improvement on 3-point shot puts Hawks’ Prince among NBA’s best
Taurean Prince is shooting 43.3 percent on three-pointers this season to rank 18th among qualified NBA players. Look at the other 19 players in the top 20 and you’ll see that Prince is third-youngest on the list behind rookies Jayson Tatum and OG Anunoby.
During his rookie season Prince’s offensive game centered on straight-line drives and he wasn’t very efficient at it. Now Prince has become a catch-and-shoot three-pointer threat—though somewhat reluctantly, coach Mike Budenholzer said.
“We’re actually sometimes wrestling with him just to shoot it more,” Budenholzer said. “He wants to drive, he wants to attack, he wants to get to the basket. I think he’ll always have somewhat of a balance. He’s not just going to become a catch-and-shoot guy.”
There’s a good reason for that. Prince is a long (7-foot wingspan) and strong wing who can get to the basket through contact and finish. He’s doing it much more frequently and efficiently this season.
Prince has said his improved outside shooting has created better opportunities to drive because defenders must close out more aggressively to challenge his three-point shot. Prince said that last offseason he worked on the “basics” of his shooting with Hawks assistant coaches Chris Jent and Ben Sullivan: footwork, balance, release points and hand placement. At the coaching staff’s urging, Prince has embraced the Hawks’ “L.T.M.F.” mantra with encouraging results as a catch-and-shoot three-point shooter, an encouraging development for the Hawks as they look to the future.
“Sooner or later I’ll be able to graduate from that and do a lot more off the dribble,” Prince said. “But, for now, I’m playing my part and producing and getting better as time goes on.”
And the same topic broached again by Fox Sports:
Fox SportsHawks’ Taurean Prince emerging as efficient 3-point threat in Year 2
Prince finished off his outing against the Heat with four 3-pointers in a 110-104 win, fortifying his burgeoning reputation of one of the league’s most improved shooters both in terms of efficiency and volume. In 44 fewer minutes than he played his entire rookie season, Prince has already knocked down 22 more 3-pointers, only two behind veteran wing Marco Belinelli for the team lead.
“It’s just about letting the defense make a mistake and making them pay for it,” said Prince, who has scored a career-high 24 points in two of Atlanta’s past four games. ” … (Defenses) have to help at some point. If you do it, just gotta make you pay for it.”
...it harkens back to the dramatic improvement of former Hawks wing DeMarre Carroll, an inescapable comparison for Atlanta’s 23-year-old wing. Crucially for a rebuilding organization, Prince also happens to be the youngest of that 13-player club.
If Carroll was Exhibit A in the effectiveness of Hawks University skill development, Prince represents the possible next step — a younger player who enrolled with a better baseline set of skills, particularly in the shooting department.

Re: Taurean Prince
Dennis Schröder gets most of the attention among their prospects. John Collins produces the most highlights. Yet the less-heralded Taurean Prince might actually be the most valuable long-term player on their roster.
Prince was never projected to be a star and likely never will become one. He was picked near the bottom of the lottery on his potential as a 3-and-D wing who could play some power forward. That type of player has become exponentially more valuable in the pace-and-space era as a lot of teams go smaller.
The former Baylor standout clearly has the green light to shoot in Mike Budenholzer’s egalitarian system. He’s taking advantage of it, firing off over four 3-point attempts a game and making a robust 42 percent of them. He’s making a killing on corner 3s — especially from the right side — but he’s also shooting a solid 36 percent on other long-range attempts. Prince is on his way to becoming an elite outside threat.
Despite some occasional stretches of surprising sustained two-way competence, Prince has a long way to go before he graduates from the prestigious Hawks University. He’s been thrown into the fire in his sophomore season and is still trying to adjust. Off the ball, he can fall asleep at times on both ends. The league’s best scorers typically get the best of him. He’s asked to do more on offense than he would be allowed to do if the Hawks were good. Yet there’s enough subtle improvement across the board to project him to be a quality combo forward.
There’s a lot riding on his development. If Prince truly hones his new skills and sharpens the ones he already possesses, he could become an important piece for the Hawks as they attempt to rebuild. His versatility should allow him to fit around whichever player the Hawks pick in next year’s draft. Even if they select another combo forward, such as Michael Porter Jr. or Miles Bridges, there could still be room for Prince.

Exactly what I was was preaching when calling for the rebuild years ago. Give Bud some young talent to develop.

Prince is deffinately a keeper and appears to be developping into a solid starter. Shro is a solid starter; now we need a star or two and about six more like Shro and Prince.

Oh. i think i know.
Players have embraced an acronym that encourages an aggressive approach to three-point shooting:
L.T.M.F., meaning “Let That (Expletive) Fly.” myAJC
My word!!!
Can you print that in a newspaper?

Re: Taurean Prince
Seems like this is becoming a weekly occurrence:
I can't give enough praise to TP and the coaching staff for the jump he's made this season.
This kid will never be our best player, but I'd be more than okay if he was made a cornerstone, locker room leader and face of the franchise.
He's a good player and better person.
He's rising up my list of all time fave Hawks.

Re: Taurean Prince
These pieces are popping up everywhere -- Gotta enjoy the positive press:
i sports webAtlanta Hawks: Taurean Prince is becoming key piece to rebuild
Though this year has been a struggle for the Atlanta Hawks, one bright spot has been the significant improvement in the play of Taurean Prince. The former Baylor star has made a major jump from his rookie season. In his second year, he has started every game for the Hawks. Even though the team has taken a major step back this season, Prince has improved in many different areas of his game and is living up to the expectations of someone drafted in the lottery.
The most noticeable improvement for Prince this year has been his three-point shooting. Entering Wednesday’s game against the Washington Wizards, Prince had a 42% three-point field goal percentage.
Though he is not well-known outside Atlanta, Prince is making a name for himself in the NBA. He is young and has the potential to be a starter in the NBA for many years. Along with Dennis Schroder and John Collins, the Hawks have a promising young core to build around.

I said a while back that the so called eggspurts were putting a ceiling on him early on...I didn't understand why..he's the perfect wing. I freakin love me some Prince. I actually think he's far and away my favorite player on this team, a real beast!!!..Collins and Dennis coming in second and third respectively.

My, my, how things change. I've just read this entire blog. When we first learned Prince was coming here:
I was hoping for someone who could at least play some garbage minutes and not someone who would spend
his season in the D league. (Now the G league)
Wasted our pick on Prince. Could have had him much later.
Bud took Prince because of his size and not because of his talents. Bud thinks he looks like a former Hawk.
Why did we take Prince when we already have Bazemore? A wasted, duplicate pick since we're keeping Baze.
Now, the question is: Will we hear the same about our picks in the next draft? Answer: You bet we will !
Regardless of who we choose, there will be those who sincerely believe that they could have chosen much
better.
Guess that's part of the fun of being a fan. We like to second guess those who are in charge. After all, we
know a lot more than they do! And, when our guess turns out to be correct, then we can brag and blow.....
But, when we're wrong, it wasn't me that sad that. Must have been miss quoted. An alternate truth !

I'm with you Gramps! You always take the BPA in the draft in my opinion. Sort of the Don Nelson days in Milwaukee and Golden State...in the end it works out better than drafting for need.

Re: Taurean Prince
“Always,” Prince said of his confidence in his 3-point shot.
Prince is shooting .418 (69 of 165) from 3-point range this season, the 27th best percentage in the NBA. He is third on the Hawks in percentage behind Dewayne Dedmon (.483 on 29 attempts) and Luke Babbitt (.441 on 93 attempts). He has been better than noted 3-point shooters Marco Belinelli (.389) and Ersan Ilyasova (.406).
Prince has made at least one 3-pointer in 19 straight games, including Tuesday’s game at the Suns.
Prince points out that he’s always been a good 3-point shooter, with a .376 percent during his 129-game career at Baylor. He said he needed some time to adjust to the longer NBA distance.
However, there was other work needed to get such drastic results. He said assistant coach Ben Sullivan worked on his hand placement on the ball and his balance.
“Two feet up, two feet down,” Prince said. “Last year, if you go back and look at the clips, I was landing on one foot when I shot the ball. It’s all about balance.”
Prince has had 3-point role models with the Hawks. He said he watched Kyle Korver in his rookie season when the two had lockers next to one another. He has watched Belinelli this season.
This is not all about the 3-pointer. Prince’s ability to drive is an asset and the Hawks want to continue to see him slash to the basket.
Prince has started all 37 games this season, the only Hawks player to do so with Bazemore. He is averaging 13.1 points, second on the team, and 5.6 rebounds, third on the team.
