News Story of the Day --

Parrot taken into custody by police in Brazil for trying to warn drug dealers of raid

Despite the bird's warning, a man and woman were arrested, a local media outlet reports

A parrot who warned two alleged drug dealers in Brazil that police were coming was taken into custody after it almost foiled an undercover drug raid, authorities said.

When the green-and-white bird spotted officers Tuesday at its owners' Teresina home, the parrot squawked "Mama, Police!" in Portuguese, according to the local outlet Oliberal.com.

Despite the bird's efforts to tip off the owners, a man and woman were arrested, the outlet reports. Drugs, including crack and marijuana, were also found at the property as well as large amounts of money.

The parrot, who police did not name, has reportedly continued to show its loyalty to its owners and is refusing to sing like a canary. The Guardian reports that a local journalist said the bird won't talk to officers and "hasn't made a sound."

The parrot, who authorities believe was trained to spot police cars, is being kept at a zoo in Teresina, Oliberal.com reports.

GoT #3........an hour and a half......WARNING!!! DO NOT read the spoiler if you haven't watched it.

Spoiler:
that was mostly meh......that big fight scene was dissapointing, too much darkness.

The Red Witch lighting the Dothraki swords only to watch them get quietly extunguished was daunting.
The littlest fighter taking out the Giant....nice!
Jorah with such an honorable death to the end, protecting his Love and Queen.
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!A redemption story!
Arya.....my girl. It HAD to be her.

Unto Kings Landing!!!

I agree.

Spoiler:
We spent 7 seasons waiting for winter...it lasted all of 80 minutes and was conveniently dispatched by a 100 pound girl.

Who was the Night King?

What did he want?

What happened to the prophecy: the Prince who was promised?

What was the point of the invasion?

Why go to Winterfell and not to King's Landing?

Where were the ice spiders hinted at for a decade?

Where was Ghost?

What was up with the signs that Walkers kept leaving?
Image

The last 3+ seasons have clearly missed George's input.

She did but I had to keep kg04 since he's only 2 and takes no interest in staying quiet in movies. I still couldn't get to them.

I'm starting to fear they're gonna sit on the dvr alongside that last episode of Power I still haven't gotten to. :(

It's a miracle I got through the last 2 seasons of the Americans a few months ago. I need to get my head in the game.

Who was the Night King? He was created by the forest Children to protect them from the Westoros first people but they turned on them, not sure why.

What did he want? He was after Bran since he was the 3 eyed raven and could see each others thoughtd and could see the future, he could figure out how to kill the Knight King.

What happened to the prophecy: the Prince who was promised?

What was the point of the invasion? To get to Bran

Why go to Winterfell and not to King's Landing? I think they had to pass through Winterfell in the North before they could head South. The wall was built to keep them out of Westeros with the North guarding it.

Where were the ice spiders hinted at for a decade? No clue

Where was Ghost?No clue

What was up with the signs that Walkers kept leaving? No clue

Responded in bold.
Spoiler:
Too many unanswered questions and story lines kept hanging.
It took them the first 15 minutes to get everyone in formation, what a waste of 15 minutes.
The made The Hound a wimp, if even for a short while, smh

Why was the Knight King immune to the Dragon Fire? Was he a Targareon?

I was dissapointed they didn't show the realization on the Knight Kings' face that he got got.

See spolier response.

Spoiler:
Yeah. It's been a waste of storyline/screentime for the Hound the past couple of seasons.

It's clear the TV Show is keeping him alive for one reason only:

Clegane Bowl

Why are 'Game of Thrones' fans hyped about Cleganebowl?

Image

It would be the clash of a generation: the Mountain and the Hound, two brothers who've been enemies since they were children, meeting in battle one last time.

Cleganebowl is the name of the fight that Game of Thrones fans have dreamed up, pitting Sandor "The Hound" Clegane vs. Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane in a duel that would likely end in death.
The two Cleganes, although similarly fierce warriors, are diametrically opposed and have made it abundantly clear that they would kill each other given the chance.

Also...

Spoiler:
That plan to defend Winterfell was terrible.

Jon's plan for the Battle of Winterfell placed Ghost on the front lines when he’d be much better used defending Bran in the godswood.

His plan also resulted in Dothraki genocide when he sent all—again, all—the Dothraki cavalry charging into pitch darkness against an enemy that would not break under cavalry charge, and completely ignored their utility as mounted archers.

He built a fire trench (with a collapsible bridge) BEHIND his army, which cut off their route of retreat.

He placed his siege weapons out in the open instead of inside the castle and fired them only once.

Finally, he yelled at a dragon when it wouldn’t stop breathing blue fire at him. Whatever.

Spoiler:
Indeed, stupid plan. The Dragons should have been up first.
Also after they retreated inside Winterfell, why did they not go to the top of the wall, they waited until the dead started climbing up.

Also. After the Red Witch lit the trench and the dead army was waiting why didn't the Dragons light them up.
There was so much wrong with this 'epic' battle we've been waiting years for.

Also, why were the dead chasing Arya so strategic? They typically just run headlong into danger all crazy.

I was dissapointed.

Spoiler:
Observers, fans and experts piling on to the nonsensical defense from the biggest episode in TV history:

Game of Thrones’ Battle of Winterfell: 2 military experts explain Jon and Dany’s sloppy plan

It wasn’t as bad as you think. It was worse

The Long Night” was a great episode, but I’m not the only one pointing out that the military strategy and tactics on offer — especially by the Army of the Living — were pretty awful. The opening Dothraki charge was ill-advised at best. There seemed to be few defenses on the walls of Winterfell. And why didn’t Jon or Dany use their dragons to burn more giants and White Walkers?

Meanwhile, the Army of the Dead used their overwhelming numerical advantage to bust through the Living’s ranks and ransack Winterfell. It left me and others wondering: Couldn’t the Living have set up their defenses so much better?

Code: Select all

The way you prepare for a siege is you don’t march your forces out into the middle of the open to fight a numerically superior enemy. You let the enemy invest in trying to beat your defenses, and the defenses were all back to front from my point of view. Having the cavalry out in the front, then their infantry, then their defenses behind their whole force, it seemed like they decided to plan backwards, and it didn’t really pay off for them.

Wait, episode 1 was good? Hell no. Episode 2 was lagging as well. Episode 3 a few nights ago was ok but they are starting to lose me. I mean I won’t stop watching but something hasn’t hyped me up yet like it usually does. :dontknow:

Also... the screen was so dark a few nights ago I couldn’t tell if it was Jammy Jammy stabbing people in the dark or Ned Stark’s bastard (I mean what we once thought was...)

Yo, Ep 2 goes down as one of the best in the series IMHO.

It hails back to the early seasons when character development and exposition were more important than action set pieces and CGI monsters.

Something that's been lacking the last few years.

It was a fine set-up episode. I was more so referring to me conquering leg 1 of my 3-episode mountain climb.
