This is literally the ideal trade for Atlanta.

Hawks need consistent shooting and scoring with Jalen and Dyson running the offense. Booker provides both of those and is at least a league average defender at his position.

I would do this in a heartbeat.

What would you guys think of a Trae for Booker deal?

We need a PG and you guys can play Dyson there with Booker being off ball. Was just curious.

That's what I thought as well. I think out owner only trades Booker if he can get back another superstar level player. Trae fits that mold and will still move jerseys and tickets. Younger too.

That's a ridiculous trade.

But, knowing you, as soon as they acquire Book you'll be looking to trade him too. Smh

Trae Young can win you games. Trae can run a top flight offense.
But it's become very apparent he can't be the #1 scoring option on a contender.
And Trae's defensive limitations make team building a challenge.

Booker fits a need as scoring wing and his ability to serve as secondary playmaker would be pretty useful in a Quin offense.

A lineup with:

  1. Dyson Daniels
  2. Devin Booker
  3. Zacch Risacher
  4. Jalen Johnson
  5. Onyeka Okongwu

has a real chance at being top-10 in both offense and defense - a balance the Hawks are unlikely to ever achieve with their current roster makeup.

We both know you just trade for the sake of trade for the sake of trade for the sake of trade......

Booker's already shown he's not a guy that can 'lead'. But you wanna bring him here with no lead guard or primary?

I've been following this forlorn franchise for nearly 30 years now...forgive me if I actually want to see my favorite team be aggressive and contend for a title before I die of old age.

It's not about you. Sorry disagreeing with your assessment causes you such dismay. Well, I'm not that sorry I guess.

Booker needs a PG for the team to play with some logic, unless the coach and teammates can implement a coral system in which everybody knows his role (ala Heat now without a guard).
Booker is not a guard.
I am not saying that he is not a better player than Trae. Or worst. It depends on the situation and rest of the roster.
I would not do it, unless Booker comes with a PG in a separate trade and we can find equal talent for Daniels in the form of a solid C or SF. Daniels is playing here for 7/8 million and he is one of the best defenders do-it-all guys in the league.
I do not think Booker+Pg+SF equals Trae+Daniels.
I firmly believe that Trae is now in his best days as a Hawk with Murray gone and the perfect partner in Daniels.
The improvement should come from another direction.

Booker isn't the alpha guy, he's proven that with way better supporting cast then Trae. Not sure why it works here... Now KD out on the wings still should be very attractive to the Hawks.

I remember Anthony Black's stock rising so quickly, and he ended up being drafted 6th overall, so I'm intrigued by him. Depending on what the asking price is we should pursue him. I only expect Fields to do so as a backup plan if he believes Trae is going to leave.
