Easyroc when you were comparing Cam to Marv, I think you meant to be comparing Nas Little to Marv. Both UNC, both non starters, both overrated.

That he doesn't mesh well in Duke's system next to Zion. That's the indictment. I have 0 allegiance to Reddish and am neutral on him coming here, but his play has clearly been effected being the third option, stationed on the perimeter as Zion and Reddish Barrett do the heavy lifting inside.

Word is, we are indeed interested in him:

Chris Kirschner wrote:I do know that the team, if...he’s on the board still, likes Reddish, who could be a “point forward” in the NBA with his ball-handling abilities, which is a skill Prince doesn’t have to the level of Reddish’s. That’s something to keep in mind when the draft comes around.

I am bigger on Cam fit than Zions honestly. But don't get me wrong, we get Zion, I'll change the entire personnel to fit him. Cam is the best fit in the draft for us

We’d be seeing the Cam everyone expected if Zion wasn’t on that team. I think he’s better suited as a #2 option, perfect for The Hawks if we plan on acquiring a #1 option via trade/FA. I’m fine with Reddish with the 5th pick, then a young C with the Mavs’ pick.

A defensive prospect for the 2nd round:

Read on Twitter

43. Matisse Thybulle, SF, Washington | Senior

Height: 6’5” | Weight: 205 | Age: 21 | Last Rank: 47

Thybulle remains one of the most intriguing defensive prospects in this draft class, with great length and natural ability that should be disruptive even outside the context of Washington’s 2-3 zone. He blocks shots, fishes for steals and makes a tangible impact on that side of the ball—even if he doesn’t lock people down one-on-one, his off-ball defense alone could make him playable. His athleticism and likely versatility on that end, coupled with a buyable if streaky three-point stroke, makes him an enticing low-risk, high-reward type pick in the second round. Thybulle doesn’t hunt or force his own shot and is a willing ball-mover, and could become an effective, if somewhat limited, part of someone’s rotation.

I wouldn’t even be mad if we skipped out on a big in this draft and stayed patient. I’m not loving any centers in this draft. Gafford a bit but still not really too much.

We should draft a center but not in the lottery, that would be a mistake

Yeah, whatever C we get will likely be a defensive specialist type. Them guys can be had in late 1st/second round if they scout right.

I still say we should target Bryant from WAS. Only thing is he's restricted. Maybe WAS matches just 'cause that's what they do. Can't be bidding against WAS. They're stupid with their money.

Also, FWIW, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone seriously pushing for us to pick Little either. So there’s no discussion to be had there. We all agree that Little probably isn’t it.

No I wasn’t saying you were pushing Little. All I’m saying is if ur looking for a Marv comparison then Little is closer than Cam. Both UNC, both non starters, both projected top 10 picks. Both have serious flaws. Cam just didn’t have the opportunity. If Cam played for Weber state, we would be calling him Durant.

I actually haven’t watched Little much at all. I guess I have more to say on Cams game and mentality. The Marv-Cam mentality comparison really isn’t that deep for me..it was a hot take that I felt applied and still do.

I do agree with you that Cam would have been better off putting himself in a position where he was top dog. You have to ask yourself why he didn’t..

Marvin was a much better prospect than Little. Little as a prospect reminds me of Jaylen Brown. A major boom or bust guy more on the bust side. He landed on a winning franchise and a great situation for him. I hope the same is true for Little.

I honestly have no interest in him for Atlanta. His off the ball defense is bad outside of closing out speed and we have two of those already in the starting five

Are you guys talking the Wizards Bryant? If so, easy pass for me. His defense is matador status. Him and Collins would be a layup line for frontcourt in the NBA

We make a lot of young bigs look good v. Us. Outside of Trae, we have no slashers. 2-10. Hamilton was our only slasher in the rotation off the pine and he is no longer in the NBA.
