The DS/Luka pairing almost happened here in Atlanta; now it appears it might happen in Dallas instead.
Unreal.
Unreal.

If Lonzo misses substantial time this season, Chicago will struggle to regain a top-6 seed in the playoffs. Unfortunate for L Ball, but might benefit us in an attempt to avoid the play-in.

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
NEW YORK -- The NBA told its teams Friday that it still expects to see a significant jump in the salary cap and tax level in the 2023-24 season.
Based on current projections, both figures -- $134 million for the salary cap, $162 million as the tax level -- would set records, and both are $1 million higher than the league's most recent projections made in June. The figures represent the cap rising 8.4% and the tax level 7.8% over the 2022-23 season

I never thought Tim Hardaway would have even had a chance at becoming an NBA hall of famer.
“Draymond is like me,” Hardaway said. “I’m the voice. I’m the s— starter that gets us going. Chris and Mitch are like Steph and Klay. … They just go out there and don’t say nothing. Just go out there and do the job.”

C.J. McCollum signed a two-year, $64 million extension with the Pelicans on Saturday, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
New Orleans traded for McCollum at the trade deadline last season, and he was a key part of their late season success that helped them make it to the playoffs. Now the Pelicans have high expectations heading into this season with Zion Williamson back. They'll be looking to push for a championship the next few seasons, and McCollum will be under contract until the 2025-26 season to help them do that. McCollum is ranked No. 59 in 9-cat leagues in Rotoworld's 2022-23 Draft Guide and shouldn't have an issue continuing his success in his first full season with the team.

It's all about Nate having the flexibility with his lineups...so far in practice and the open practice....he's running an all bench lineup.
With the relative youth of JJ and OO - one of the sub patterns I would like to see is JJ with Trae and Clint, OO with DJ and Collins.

I fear that Nate will continue with all Starters/all bench, the only exception was using Bogi coming from the bench but playing in the 4th QT
I might be wrong, but I would prefer to mix young/veteran players, always thought the young learn more like that than playing together only.
I'd prefer a starting lineup dominating by 5pts and a bench unit doing the same, than having the starters at +10 every games and bench being between -5 (which would still get a win) and -15 when they miss experience, are dominated and it costs a game.

Vasilije Micic on the NBA: 'People there are hesitant to give me the role that I want'
“To be honest, I haven’t personally spoken to anyone”, Micic said with his teammate on the Serbian national team and NBA MVP Nikola Jokic explaining to him that if an NBA team really wants him in a meaningful role, then he will also get offered a meaningful contract. “From what I heard from my agents, there were rumors about some teams. Some teams were interested in me. As far as I understand, people there are hesitant to give me the role that I want. I was talking to Jokic, he’s the best player out there. He said to me, ‘it doesn’t matter who you are when you’re there, what matters is the role you get, whether they will sign you, and the money in return.

SACRAMENTO KINGS
[https://www]
Mike Brown is "leaning" toward starting Kevin Huerter at shooting guard.
Huerter started over Malik Monk in Sacramento's first preseason game and had been seen practicing with the starting group. Both guys can fill it up from outside, but Huerter may fit better as a starter with Monk as a sparkplug off the bench. Huerter has been a top-200 fantasy asset over the course of his career in an inconsistent role in Atlanta. Monk had his first top-200 season last year with the Lakers. If Huerter can be the consistent starter, he could finish in the top-100 in 9-cat for the first time in his career.

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
SAN FRANCISCO -- Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green publicly apologized and announced he will step away from the team for a few days following an altercation between him and teammate Jordan Poole, Green announced Saturday.
"No. 1, I was wrong for my actions," Green said. He added that he has apologized to Poole and Poole's family.
"There's a huge embarrassment that comes with (this)," Green said. "Not only for myself, as I was the one who committed the action ... but the embarrassment that Jordan has to deal with and that this team has to deal with, this organization has to deal with. But also Jordan's family. His family saw that video. His mother, his father saw that video. If my mother saw that video, I know how my mother would feel."
