Another question if I may.

Am I just doing the rainbows and unicorns thing, and otherwise confirmation bias, when I watch him play defense and see him, actually, seem to be more of a legitimate defender and more of a factor than the defensive numbers suggest?

I truly believe Boggs is going to be our 2nd option. His game looks so smooth, and he is exactly what we were looking for in a secondary ball handler. Can only imagine having an easier time playing with Trae and what he will be able to accomplish. No longer has to share minutes/shots with Hield has to be a relief as well.

The Kings chose not to match the Hawks four-year, $72 million offer sheet on Bogdan Bogdanovic, officially making him an Atlanta Hawk.

The Kings chose roster flexibility and letting Bogdanovic walk for free over keeping him and the Hawks will now feature a potential starting five of Trae Young, Bogdanovic, Danilo Gallinari, John Collins and Clint Capela along with a stable of good, young players. The future is (finally) looking bright in Atlanta.

Annnnnnd kg01 gets his guy! Congrats.

Congrats to all the Serbian fans already on board and those who are coming. Welcome!

I will admit Bogi is a guy I have slept on and I don’t know his game well. I had the same issue when we signed JJ in 2005, I didn’t watch many Suns games and he was the 4th option, this feels the same. At that time a friend of mine vouched for JJ and he was pretty great. A different friend asked me tonight what the starting lineup would be for us now that we signed him. I said what I thought and left out Bogi, he said emphatically “No way, Bogi will start.” :o

Is he a starter? Healthy competition is good either way.

This is a relief that we officially have him now. Now I can be satisfied with the off-season and be extremely excited for the upcoming season. Go Hawks!!!!

My take is he's not a stopper or even someone I'd call a good defender. If the plan is to play him at SG he has good size and a deceptively long wingspan but the lateral quickness is average. High IQ player so team defensive concepts and rotations shouldn't be a problem. Effort is never an issues.

I'm not a fan of Bogz, but good the Hawks have either somebody who will help the team win or is another asset the Hawks can trade down the line.

Huge fan of Gallo and Bogs, rooting for you guys to make the playoffs (that looks like a given at this point, right?).

Bogdan is great signing, Gallinari is bad. I believe Hawks might have chosen differently, if they have signed Bogdan first.

That's the only thing I'm looking at for how he fits with Trae on defense. He seems to be a better defender than Huerter. Long as he puts in the effort and not display poor body language are my main concerns. He may not be the optimal running mate to Trae but he should be a good placeholder at minimum.

Pure speculation on my part, but I feel Hayward was the first target, and when it became apparent he was either too pricey or that the timeline was going to get extended in getting something done... or both... Schlenk went to plan B. And Gallo makes so much more sense now that we know the 3rd year carries a $5m guarantee instead of the full ~$20m.

I look for Gallo and Rondo both to be given ample load management nights off during the regular season, in anticipation of keeping them available for post season.

Mavs went in totally different direction. They tried to fix D. foremost. I like it. We will see, who will be more successful. I would like Bogdan in Mavs though.
