Bleacher ReportEvery NBA Team's Final Ben Simmons Offer Ahead of 2022 Trade Deadline
Atlanta Hawks
The Offer: John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic and multiple first-round picks for Ben Simmons
Simmons would be almost perfect for Atlanta, which needs to drastically improve its 27th-ranked defense and has an unscratched itch for non-Trae Young playmaking. The Hawks also just happen to have a roster begging for a consolidation trade, so there should be no shortage of interest from their end.
And there reportedly isn't. The Hawks "have been most engaged" in the Simmons sweepstakes recently, per The Athletic's Shams Charania, who added this general framework has been discussed.
It's a fine offer in theory, since Collins could provide supplemental scoring and feast on the open spaces afforded by Joel Embiid's ability to stretch a defense, while Bogdanovic would address a need for more shot-creation. In reality, though, a Collins-Embiid-Tobias Harris frontcourt could get clunky on the defensive end, and Bogdanovic isn't quite as prolific of a playmaker as Philly needs.
Interest Level: Not zero, but not enough to get a deal done

Philly saved Milly. He didn't leave Denver to sign with Brooklyn to deal with the BS.

Atlanta Finally Finds 2nd Star to Pair with Trae Young
Atlanta Hawks receive: Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas
Brooklyn Nets receive: Clint Capela, Bogdan Bogdanovic and No. 16 pick
When the Hawks searched for Trae Young's co-star earlier this season, they gave serious consideration to tabbing Ben Simmons for the role. Atlanta was reportedly the "most engaged" Simmons suitor leading up to the deadline, per The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Who says the Hawks can't go back to that well?
The pairing of Young, the league's only player to average 25 points and nine assists this season (and last), and Simmons, arguably the Association's most versatile defender, remains fascinating on paper. Each has a razor-sharp strength that could help cover the other's glaring weakness, and they could make magic together in transition and pick-and-rolls.
Plus, if Simmons' trade value has moved at all since Atlanta first expressed interest, it certainly hasn't gone up. He sat out the entire season and just had back surgery. The Nets could be in even more of a time crunch than the Philadelphia 76ers were, with Kevin Durant's 34th birthday coming before the next campaign does.
If the Hawks get Simmons healthy and back up to speed, they'd have both their second star and the shut-down defender this roster needs. Pairing him with John Collins up front and having Kevin Huerter and De'Andre Hunter on the wings would give this group all kinds of length, athleticism, shooting and finishing around Young.
As a bonus, the Hawks would also fetch Cam Thomas, who might provide the instant offense they've needed behind Young.
As for the Nets, they would essentially decide they don't have time to wait for Simmons (or, to a lesser extent, Thomas) and ditch the three-star model in favor of a deeper, better defensive roster around Durant and Kyrie Irving.
Clint Capela would exponentially upgrade the center spot (and the 20th-ranked defense), and the fact he can't shoot shouldn't worry a front office overseeing a roster with as many long-range weapons as Brooklyn has. Bogdan Bogdanovic could settle in as a third scorer and secondary playmaker.
The draft pick, which would be the Nets' third collected in a Simmons swap, could help grease the gears of another trade if the right win-now move is out there.

Atlanta Hawks: Ben Simmons
Few rosters more clearly cry for a consolidation deal than Atlanta's. While the Hawks have put a number of solid-or-better players around Trae Young, they're still awaiting the arrival of a true co-star—and someone who can perk up their 26th-ranked defense.
Put Ben Simmons on this roster (and on the floor), and he might have the best chance of checking both boxes.
The 25-year-old, who has "several" fans within the organization, per The Athletic's Chris Kirschner, might be the Association's most versatile stopper. Plus, he is a top-shelf ball-mover, a punishing finisher in transition and a potentially electric pick-and-roll partner for Young. If the Brooklyn Nets are already having second thoughts about Simmons, who never suited up this season, the Hawks should be ready to strike.
Bleacher ReportNets 'Unlikely' to Move PG amid Kevin Durant Buzz
While the Brooklyn Nets are reportedly exploring trades for star forward Kevin Durant and point guard Kyrie Irving, the team's third star apparently isn't going anywhere.
Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported Thursday that the Nets are "unlikely" to trade point guard Ben Simmons this offseason, writing, "when asked if Simmons had gotten assurances he was in the Nets' long-term plans and would not be traded, a source close to the young All-Star told The Post simply that 'Ben is good.'"
"While he did have surgery and is on schedule to be ready for training camp, according to a source, one league source said there was no chatter about the Nets actively shopping Simmons, while two said there was little market for him," Lewis wrote.

After Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, he was unable to play in any games and subsequently underwent back surgery.
With Simmons representing a major part of Brooklyn's trade of James Harden, the franchise doesn't want to trade him when his value is at its possible nadir.
"His trade value is at an all-time low," wrote Zach Lowe. "For their part, the Nets are wary of selling low on Simmons and cannot afford to view him as mere throw-in."
