Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
I hope Bradley Beal rots in Washington with a completely meaningless final 4 years of his career.
If securing money at the expense of winning has been his priority for years now, then that should be his lasting legacy. (And a cautionary tale to NBA Owners).

Sadly, he's praised for his loyalty. His wife in the past would voice her opinion, she wanted out. She's since muted herself as her husband Beal just continues to sign max after max.Jamaaliver wrote:I hope Bradley Beal rots in Washington with a completely meaningless final 4 years of his career.

Neal could be content with just the money and eventually for us on winning a championship in his later years. I've always thought that would become the case.

I liked Rui in that draft and would have taken a flyer on him here as a combo forward. Hope things work out for him long term in LA.

I don't believe any competent GM would give up three second round picks for Rui.

Mike Trudell: Darvin Ham said he expects Anthony Davis to play tonight, for the first time since Dec. 16, when he hurt his foot. Davis will have a minutes limit: “He had these boxes that he had to check, and he checked all of them, so we feel comfortable with him (returning) tonight.”

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
I don't think we've had any player since Josh Smith that could pressure the rim in transition consistently. We are definitely missing a guy with size who can put the ball on the floor and just attack on fast breaks.
Trae is decent at it, but he flops every time down looking for a foul -- and sometimes he doesn't get the call in key moments.

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
The Portland Trail Blazers have offered Jerami Grant a four-year, $112 million extension, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
Grant has not accepted the offer as the Blazers can sign offer a five-year contract worth more money when he becomes a free agent.
Grant can sign for up to $233 million over five years, though the upper range of that contract appears unrealistic.
Grant is interested in signing with the Blazers long-term

For any good Josh Smith did on defense he did absolutely nothing for us on offense.Jamaaliver wrote:I don't think we've had any player since Josh Smith that could pressure the rim in transition consistently. I would like for us to pursue OG.

Re: Around the League News and Rumors (Non-Hawks) Part 2
Joe Tsai was able to get the last laugh by not trading Kyrie to the Lakers. What a savage.
Joe Tsai did not want to see Kyrie Irving traded to Lakers?
The Nets, rather than trading with Phoenix or the Lakers, ultimately came away with the two Mavericks they wanted most and a better win-now duo than L.A. could offer: Dinwiddie and Finney-Smith. The Nets also succeeded, as one source close to the process put it, in meeting one of the presumed objectives held by team owner Joe Tsai by sending Irving somewhere other than the Lakers — his preferred destination.
