Viewing Brandon Clarke as a possible SF opens a lot of possibilities and isn’t even something I thought about until it was mentioned here. I recently viewed video of him (probably about a week ago) and saw PF or small ball C, but I looked again earlier today, and I did see the dribble drive ability.

I felt he was a player you’d take somewhere between 12-24 and thus not a guy that the Hawks would be in for unless you trade down or get a pick there, but if you really think he can shoot and can keep up his dribble driving ability, then he really might be a SF/PF and not PF or small ball C. And that would vault him to 8-12 to me.

For any college 4/5, I always look at their ability to defend perimeter players. It's clear Clarke takes more chances on the perimeter and that will change when he gets more experience doing it. Gonzaga is not a NBA showcase team. They are a win-first team. They will put you in the best position for THEM to win games, not for you to go to the NBA.

His defensive talent is A+
His athletic ability is A+
His Defensive BBIQ is A- as a college player compared to pros and is a A+ at his level.
He is a A- at steals, A+ at blocks, A+ at defending in space, A+ at defending the PnR, A+ at hedging, A+ at paint protection and an A+ at switching for college.

He has the most potential of any defensive player in this draft with Zion.

Offensively, he is elite at movement and finishing. Two things John is elite at but John has an elite scoring instincts, he wants it. Brandon can score unassisted due to his first step, quickness, and soft touch which John also has. He has potential to develop into a rich man's DeMarre Carroll and Shawn Marion like without the excellent shooting but with the fundamentals and the BBIQ on both ends.

I think he has the most potential SF. PF is his best NBA position but it's his most limited. He will only be so good at PF. If he can develop his shot, no reason he can't be a rich man's DMC and like Marion. That's a 5 time All Star and 2x All NBA and a tremendous modern NBA fit.

For me, outside of the top 5, why not? His potential at the 3 long term is very appealing.

Can someone tell me which players in this Draft have the best outside (3 point Range) shots/accuracy?

He is the Klay of this year's draft. His defense is pretty good too, he gets about 2 steals a game.

I hate to be the breaker of some bad news, but there’s a very real possibility that NAW isn’t a good defender.

I don’t necessarily agree with all of this article, but because of Virginia Tech being a zone and full court trap team, we don’t really know how good NAW is defensively. Because as far as I care, if you’re a zone team and add on that, you can toss those defensive stats out the window entirely.

I don’t see Afflalo or Thompson here either. The scenario that is probably best case is actually Malcolm Brogdon. Or what people would like SGA to be but with better jump shooting and worse defense, because SGA’s jumper is not that good, and his defensive chops are actually supposed to be for real.

I’m less concerned with a college player’s stats or how he currently fits in with his team and more concerned with how he will fit into our Hawks team.

I still have Cam, Culver at the top with Hunter in at 3rd. These three would seem to fit our team nicely.

Sometimes I worry about March Madness as well. It shoots a player way high or low depending on a small sample of games.

Culver is working today. I’m torn between him and Cam to be honest. More on Culver here.

Going 6-23 with 2 assists and 4 TO in 39 min is not exactly hooping.

He was 5-10 for 17 points at that point. Wasn't really paying attention as I was into my weather hobby.

Then promptly went 1-13. McOofies. 0-12 in the second half I believe.

He's too inconsistent for me. I would take one of the other top wings over him.

I'll take Cam Reddish. Cam better than Paul George at this stage. He moves as well. He is just raw. He has star potential.

You aren't concerned about the poor shooting numbers?

No. He is raw and he isn't ready yet at this level but his potential for the NBA is next level.
