See now this makes me happy.....happier..I actually think the Raptors and Wizards have a chance. Both backcourts are solid and both been together a while which could help with chemistry in the playoffs.
Pass on helping the Wizards. John Wall talking crap to Julio and Migos after game 6 last year is too anti-Atlanta for me to support.

A trade that would be solid value for us would be Bazemore and Mike Muscala(TPE) for Channing Frye, Shumpert and Cleveland's late 1st round pick

^Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the The Stepien Rule prevents a team from trading consecutive 1st round draft picks.
Since we currently are projected to take their 2019 pick, I don't think they can trade the 2018 1st rounder before draft night.

You are right. It would have to be a trade for the 2021 1st round pick. Lottery protected 2021, top 10 2022, and turns into two 2nd rounders after that. I think Cleveland would prefer Ersan over Moose. Much better player, more of a need, and an expiring contract.

The way I understand this is since Cavs have the Brooklyn pick for 2018 they can indeed trade their own 2018 1st.

No because they have already traded their 2019 1st top 10 protected to us! They can trade the nets pick in 2018 but not their own.

You are incorrect:
Cavaliers also netted the Brooklyn Nets 2018 first-round pick. According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, this now allows for Cleveland to move their own 2018 first-round selection.
This is due in large part to the Stepien Rule that does not allow teams to wind up with back-to-back years without a single draft pick. This includes both guaranteed and non-guaranteed draft picks for any organization.
In the Cavaliers’ case, their 2018 first-round pick had been their only selection from next year’s draft and their 2019 first-round pick, which is top-10 protected. That pick was sent to the Atlanta Hawks in the Kyle Korver trade last season.
That being said, Cleveland wouldn’t be able to unload both picks if desired until the night of the 2018 NBA Draft.

The idea is to make sure you don't violate the Stepian rule by not having picks in consecutive years, could be yours or from another team.Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread (Part 2)

oh ok the league is worried about that huh...but a cupcake like Durant shifting the NBA balance is ok? I see.
Well when you trade 5 consecutive 1st round picks for crap like the Cavs (ironic) did in 1982, yeah

What are the trade suggestions?

This is the trade suggestion by another writer who referenced the 'givemesports article' -
Dedmon for forward DJ Wilson and guard Rashad Vaughn (UFA, Bucks declined his option). Don't know much about these two on the court.
I strolled over the the Bucks trade thread, they are interested in Dedmon, Ersan, and Beli, not only for their expirings but they can also help on the court. I want no part of Smelly, Telly, Delly or any other 'elly coming back to Atlanta without a first attached. Bucks have salary cap issues.

From the Bucks Board on DJ Wilson and Vaughn.
"Our Gm was fearful that other teams were going to trade up for this blue chip prospect DJ Wilson... We had him valued as a top 10 prospect. He is super clutch on the big stage. We are willing to sacrifice said talent for the betterment of the team this year... We need a center to play valuable minutes in place of Thon til he develops into an MVP calibre player.
Rashad Vaughn is a young prospect who has had his playing time cut. We may be intentionally trying to keep his value low so we can resign both he and Jabari long term next year. He is about to have a break out season. Can shoot the three with confidence and play some d.
(Did I sell enough guys?)
Their biggest flaws
Dj Needs a hair cut.
Vaughn needs to stop sleeping with the coaches wives."
