Not if he transforms himself to Cliff Robinson like he hopes. Then he can play to 40.

Is there a way to see this if I am using the app? I hate that it doesn't show the tweets.

So with all this shake-up and possible S&T of Millsap, it's going to be nice to see us actually rebuild. We should be looking to acquire Jahlil Okafor now. He gets a lot of flack for being a traditional big considered to be a defensive liability, but something tells me Philly just wasn't a good place for him period. An established coach taking the time to get the best out of him could bring back his once potential star value that has diminished from most perspective.

Should the Hawks bring back Tiago Splitter on a Pero size contract as the 12th man on the bench?

I can get behind this all the way if we're S&Ting Millsap.

I do really like this idea. But, again, Budenholzer's track record with Centers isn't great. Bud didn't know how to properly utilize Dwight last season which led to some issues.

I fear we'd see a repeat with Jahlil.

But, I agree a more focused coaching staff with a more veteran team would benefit Jahlil greatly.

Bud may or may not be a lot of things but he's not a magician. He can't make a guy do things if he isn't willing. Dwight still believes he's a typical post up player. Yes, there might have been missed opportunities but if Dwight is UNWILLING - that why he got benched at end of games and in the playoffs.

•On The Vertical’s live show, Wojnarowski identified the Hawks as a team to watch on the trade market, suggesting that new GM Travis Schlenk may be looking to cut costs as he retools the roster. Kent Bazemore could be a trade candidate in Atlanta, per Wojnarowski.

We can be so lucky that Baze is moved.

Agreed. Schlenk deserves Exec of the year if he can break up both bad contracts from last summer.

Even Plumlee I don't see as an issue long term, considering he's been traded twice (or is it three times) in the last year.

We'll have $40+ million in cap space if we let Millsap and THJ walk. Trav can start rebuilding this team in his image immediately.

(If we'd embraced the tank at the trade deadline -- moving Thabo and Millsap -- we could be looking at a lottery pick plus tons of cap space. Greatly speeding up the rebuild most of us knew was coming.)

A little off topic with the draft tonight but, I think Minny will end up giving us a pick just outside of the lottery in 2018. We could be looking at a nice situation next draft with our likely top 10 pick and a late teen.

Will Minny's offseason propel them into the playoffs...? I think they are ready to blossom into a pretty good team capable of reaching the playoffs

With the addition of Butler they just might be a playoff team now.

The west is stacked with the Warriors, Spurs, Rockets, Clippers, but I think Jimmy Butler can push the younger Wolves to #7 - #8 in the west

Wolves fan here

Is a sign/trade with Milsap for Gorgui Dieng (4/$64 mil contract) and Shabazz Muhammad (RFA) something any ATL fan would have interest in?

Not sure if those are interesting players or would rather have flexibility if Milsap walks

No, I would rather look at LMA or Kevin Love first before going to MINN. But if Spurs and Cavs don't work out, and the Hawks go to the Wolves, then Justine Patton would have to be apart of the deal

That's fair

But it's possible the Wolves can get to cap space position to sign Milsap outright, so not sure how much leverage ATL would have

I just wasn't sure if ATL fans had any interest in Dieng and Bazz as players or would prefer the unknown of FA

What would ATL's cap situation be without Milsap's cap hold?

I think if Millsap has the option to sign with a team out right or do a sign and trade and get max and go to the Spurs, I think he will easily take the Spurs

Return to Atlanta Hawks
