Re: Hawks -- State of the Franchise
I'm at least optimistic that the FO is coming around to how to build around Trae or even build an NBA team. Love DD and Ris additions. Just need to show that they got that memo for the front court.
I would have preferred Chomche over Djurisic

Just dreadful...
Capacity of State Farm for Basketball is 16,888.
Noted.
Interesting that they averaged 16,980+ in attendance.
But, I digress....
Why did I fall in love with such a poorly run NBA franchise as a teenager?

Probably the standing room bar area.

Re: Hawks -- State of the Franchise
Getting the lotto love #1 pick in the draft and a very nice return in the Murray trade makes me feel quite good about the state of the franchise. This after being very down on the status prior to this offseason
Big positives for this season are to see great development from young team and players going well over the o/u and getting a higher FRP from LAL than we send to SAS. Having the SAC FRP come in as #15 works too

Silly, Jaybird. They don't allow teenagers at the bar.

I'm very positive about this young team but I do realize some of our guys won't be fixtures here longterm. I look forward to us making more moves to improve. Being on the season!

Bleacher ReportStorylines Ahead of 2024 Hawks Training Camp
Trae Young's Future with the Franchise
Trae Young has resided within the trade rumor mill for over a year now. While the Hawks haven't sent the three-time All-Star packing yet, the point guard's future with the franchise feels far from settled.
Atlanta, which traded away his backcourt mate, Dejounte Murray, this summer, could be on the precipice of a top-to-bottom rebuild. The Hawks might feel they can't go full-on tank mode since they don't control their next three first-round picks, but it's not like logging major mileage on the treadmill of mediocrity is doing them a lot of good.
The Hawks have quietly assembled an intriguing young core featuring Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu, Kobe Bufkin and this year's top pick, Zaccharie Risacher, and it might be in their best interest to ship out their remaining vets and focus on these players' development. Young has proven tricky to trade, though, so it's possible he and the Hawks are merely stuck with one another until a viable alternative comes along.

None of 'the intriguing Young core' has yet to show they can be the cornerstone of a rebuild.....yet! They didn't come out the box ready made for the spotlight like Trae did in year one. I'm hoping ZR does. JJ appears ready for the next step but remains a work in progress. OO has yet to tear the starting role from CC. Bufkin keeps getting injured.

Re: Hawks -- State of the Franchise
The economics of sports team ownership seems to be worsening with the massive rise in player salaries.
Feels unsustainable long term.
