OKC seems like the best place for this kid. He can be special if he actually gets the development, PT and reps.

A nervous 1k profit.

You mean AJ Griffin? So you won?

But I can't stand Stephen A Smith, so...
When Perk first appeared on ESPN he was liked. What has happened?

How many one-and-done Duke players is Travis going to draft?

Solid on 3pts catch-and-shoot, has a mid-range game from what I saw but lack of consistency. For the rest, he will have to work, even if he has potential on defense, I'm not counting on him to improve the wing defense as much as we need.
But if he's a consistent 3pts shooter starting next season, it can be interesting.

CP War Hawks wrote:Draft gets hella flat from this point on. I do like Griffin, and he'd be a good fit here, but those knees are pretty much shot from how he moves laterally.

I thought Cha would've scooped him up with one of their picks. We need to send him over to the top knee specialist and get him right. The value is very good, yet another Dukie. One of these Blue Devils have to pan out for us sooner or later...

Golden State drafted Tyrese Martin for us.

During the 2022 G League Elite Camp, he measured 6-foot-5.5 without shoes and 216 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan. He recorded a 39-inch maximum vertical leap.

I like the value for AJ Griffin at #16, but I'm a bit disappointed by the asset management last night.

Seems like we could have traded back and gotten some additional draft capital for a John Collins trade.

I really like what the Knicks did -- trading one middling, lottery pick in 2022 for multiple picks in a loaded 2023 draft.

This is perhaps my favorite Draft Night outfit since Karl Malone almost 40 years ago.

Straight fire. Kid looks like a model.

The beat writer over at The Athletic pulling no punches.

I love it!!

Chris Kirchner wrote:The Hawks’ big draft-night trade Thursday saw the team send the 44th pick to Golden State for $2 million in cash and pick No. 51. Let me be very clear about this deal: There is no basketball reason the Hawks made this trade. The $2 million doesn’t help the salary cap, and it doesn’t help them avoid the luxury tax. It has no benefit to increasing your Hawks fandom in any way.

These were the players drafted from picks 44 through 50: Ryan Rollins, Josh Minott, Ismael Kamagate, Vince Williams Jr., Kendall Brown, Isaiah Mobley and Matteo Spagnolo. If any of them becomes a high-level contributor for another team, you can thank Ressler for the Hawks not having the chance to draft him. Oh, and the pick they sold at No. 44 was to the NBA champion Golden State Warriors, who frankly don’t care what it takes to possibly make their team better.

it actively hurts the franchise to drop seven slots for no reason at all. UConn’s Tyrese Martin, whom the Hawks picked at No. 51, could end up being a fine player for Atlanta, but the trade is still an awful one and a move that cannot be sold to the fan base as smart basketball decision-making. This isn’t on president of basketball operations Travis Schlenk or soon-to-be general manager Landry Fields. This is only on Ressler.
