I like Siakam but I'm not trying to die on this particular hill today.

So if the rumors are true and QS and Landry are pursuing him, will you guys just riot the entire season because you don't want him?

When has that ever been a thing here.
I didn't want Dwight Howard or Rondo but once they became Hawks I rooted for them.

tbhawksfan1 wrote:No one is saying that the team is perfect as is. The timing is terrible for a trade though. Even here on RGM the Hawks trades are atrocious. The last two seasons have devalued almost everyone. Nick Nurse's Raps are the opposite, a very well coached team pushing up the value of their players

Nate took a less talented team to the ECF. I'm willing to let Snyder do his thing and raise the value of our players.

Trading low for high is never a good idea. I want to build the team with it's youth managed as an asset to build a long term contender, not trade the farm for an older win now piece.

Siakam is the perfect example of that. He's years past the age of our core, he's high volume numbers and he hasn't raised TOR very much even though that is a good team. His numbers are inflated by big minutes and huge volume

The worst thing is that word is it would take a Murray, CC, young guy and pick package to get him. EASY PASS

What you're saying applies more to a rebuilding team though. A team like Detroit or Houston could afford to do this because they haven't even gotten off the ground level. Teams with playoff admirations, can't afford to just rebuild players value.

Like I said earlier, value is value. A team isn't going to offer significantly more than what they have already offered without a substantial reason for doing it.

Speaking of Anunoby, there is a growing sense among executives who have called the Raptors (albeit with some caution) that Pascal Siakam may be easier to deal with than Anunoby currently. One savvy executive did mention that he felt that was a means to judge market value if and when the Raptors do decide to trade Anunoby. However, it’s fair to say front offices are pretty worn out on the attempts by Toronto to get “blood from a stone” as one executive put it at the deadline in any deal. Multiple sources have described the Raptors as frustrating to deal with. So why keep calling? “There are only 29 teams to work with.”

Should we pursue Kristaps Porzingis?

Hawks receive: Pascal Siakam, Otto Porter Jr., 2023 No. 13 pick

Raptors receive: John Collins, DeAndre Hunter, Jalen Johnson, 2023 No. 15 pick, 2024 first-round pick

And all of those is a hell no too. This is way too much for Siakam.

With the Wiz whizzing - is there are 3 team trade where we can get Danial Gafford with Capela going to a 3rd team. Hawks move on from CC, Start OO with Gafford as the backup.

2nd time foiled by Suns trading for star player. Rumor was they had a deal at the deadline before the KD deal.

Well Clint is definitely in the package to a 3rd team. I'm not suggesting all what Clint brings back, should go to Washington, but I would see what Washington would want for him and flesh it out from there. I'd give them Collins and 15 if they include Gafford and Wright.

How much does Atlanta value Okongwu? as in what would be a realistic trade with the Celtics?

Hawks are high on him and are trying to move Capela to start him.
I don't see a realistic Celtic trade.

Okongwu for Hawks fans has the same value that Boston fans have for Robert Williams.

Next season's salary for Porzingas $36 mil, Wright $8 mil, Gafford $12 mil....you have increased our payroll by $11 million (and that's assuming we are taking back $0 in a Capela trade)if you are only sending out Capela and Collins.

Then what?
So we've essentially salary dumped Collins, Capela and the #15 pick for Gafford?

KP to Boston in a three team trade.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Khris Middleton has opted out of the final season of his contract and will be a free agent.

Middleton, who underwent knee surgery in early June, was due to make a little under $40.4 million had he opted into the final season of his deal. Instead, he's decided to opt out and will be an unrestricted free agent come June 30. While a key contributor for the Bucks since his arrival in Milwaukee, Middleton only appeared in 33 games this past season due to multiple injuries. He's one of the best wing scorers in the NBA when healthy. This decision means that two key contributors for the Bucks will be free agents, with Brook Lopez also hitting the market.
