Hawks among teams interested in Myles Turner?

Turner will enter the upcoming offseason as an unrestricted free agent after completing a two-year, $40.9 million fully guaranteed contract with the Pacers. He earned $19.9 million in 2024-25, the final year of that extension. As it stands, there is mutual interest between Turner and Indiana on a new contract, sources tell RG, but his impact will command a market of interested suitors. The Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks are among the teams interested in Turner ahead of free agency, sources tell RG, as both teams look to bolster their frontcourts. – via Responsible Gaming

What I'm hearing from this rumor and the draft prospects we've hosted:

Hawks don't see Okongwu as capable of manning the Center position by himself long term...

I would be interested in a Jabari trade...not sure if he has the bball IQ to run in a Quin Snyder offense.

Either of these guards would solve our backup PG issues; Jordan Clarkson is cheaper, more experienced and already familiar with out HC and schemes.

Both Garland and Clarkson have great deficiencies when thinking about team basketball. Clarkson defines as one man orchestra. The guy never passes... plain and simple. Garland lacks creativity, IMO, and lacks enough quality to ba so selfish.
I prefer LeVert over both together.

Most of our improvement depends on JJ recovery and development, as well as those of Trae and OO, Daniels, Gueye... and Risacher. If all of them come back next year with a notable improvement, then we will be a different team no matter who is new here.

With that said, I still think we need a couple of nice additions to grow as a team. Cam Johnson could be one of them at the right price, as he could play next to JJ or next to Risacher and with Cam and LeVert we have two players that can play 2 positions each, That's very interesting in PO times, when you diminish the rotation and still keep your versatility. In Johnson we get a much need shooter.

Been mentioned in various posts on the trade board. People know which teams have money and which teams need to shed money. Hauser and Gafford are rumored to be shed moves and Hawks are a win now team that has some money to play with

I prefer us to keep Mouhamed Gueye.

22 years old, raw talent, and he had 18 rebounds in a game this season.

Gafford has a career high of 17 rebounds in one game and will be due an extention after next season.

I do like Gafford and the energy he brings.

Seems like we are giving up 'a lot' - not interested in giving up a first for an expiring contract.
I think Gafford returns a couple 2nds or three.

If you trade for Gafford you do so with the expectation that you will be offering him a large contract. We are talking probably $20-$30 million per year at least.

We're shooting ourselves in the foot with Turner. He's not coming here without a 30+ million dollar contract. At 20 mil AAV, he's great to have, but he'll be getting much more than that unfortunately.

Gafford could be interesting, but I prefer the Chinese guy.

WE have denied permission to the Knicks to talk to Quirk.

It is fan to fire your coach and then ask for permission to talk to half the league's coaches...
