This signing is looking like a surefire steal:

Sorry we took Gallinari from you, buddy. Better luck next time.

Mavs went in totally different direction. They tried to fix D. foremost. I like it. We will see, who will be more successful. I would like Bogdan in Mavs though.

Gallo was a great signing and I'd say the Hawks had a very successful year.

I'd lean towards keeping Bogdan here as teammate with Trae.

They mesh well.

Bogdan should be a keeper unless we just can't pass on a package that's presented to us. I like the fit with Trae too.

Bogdan can opt out of his Hawks contract after this season. If he's healthy, is there any scenario he comes back on the same deal?

He would have to end the season healthy and strong to consider opting out. He'll also have to look at teams with available capspace that may be able to offer him a starting position.
Or the Hawks may trade him. 8-).
I remember saying that my hope was that busy the time Huerter's extension kicked in we'd only overlap 1 year with Bogi as I thought he'd be traded before his option year.

Can we even afford to trade him?

With that 15% trade kicker attached, would that count against our salary cap?

If we are taking back a player on a lower salary it wouldn't matter. It's what the Hawks salary is after the trade thar will determine where we are under the salary cap or luxury tax lines.

Yes, the Trade kicker was included for the team trading him, so ATL would have to pay it, but if the player coming here has a contract nearly 15% lower than what Bogi gets now, it wouldn't cost more in the end like Jayu said
