Lu Dort seems like the next weak link to be jettisoned from OKC.

Obviously Ayo would be an ideal match next to Trae, but is not obtainable at this point.

Any shot Dyson, Kobe or Zacch have a legit shot at turning into that caliber of 3 & D player?

If we're short on size in the front court and need a good locker room presence...I can't think of a more perfect 3rd center than Boban.

Not a skilled basketball player, but a great person and useful situational weapon. (Guarding in-bounders, end of half scenarios to prevent lobs, grabbing wedged basketballs mid game.)

This is one of the main reasons the Hawks went with Risacher over Sarr or others...

This was not a well constructed team last year. I give credit to Quin for at least giving it a go with these players.

But we clearly needed a shakeup. I really just wish we'd moved Capela in 2023 and let John Collins start at Center next to Jalen.

Another solid floor spacer with serious defensive potential:

You're about to see that he's just better than Sarr. It's going to be fun watching their rookie seasons but Sarr won't make much of an impact.

This is the lineup I want to see around Trae

Trae
Zacc
JJ
OO
Edey

Bog, DD, Hunter, Kobe and Cap come in next

Zacc and JJ have to be able to shoot in this senario. I want my two bigs to set solid screens and be effective in the pick and roll or pick and pop. I want the bigs to BOARD and protect the paint with strong D. I want defensive identity and size. Develop the talented youth

We are a Zach Edey or Clingan away from what I want from the team

I sneaky think/hope that the Hawks will re-sign CC to a very team friendly deal. He gets more years in the league with a team that wants him and he gets to play and get paid.

Draft and/or trade for a pick and roll/pop defensive anchor center and run with

7'2"+ C / CC
OO /
JJ / Hunter
Ris / DD
Trae / Kobe

Only a couple of rotation players away and we have the assets to plug those holes.

Interesting that Travis tried but failed to get Quentin years ago (in the Cam Reddish trade IIRC), but now Quentin's essentially an NBA Vagabaond.

He'd have been infinitely more valuable to us over that heavily protected Hornets pick we received instead.

I'd also like to see CC with us longterm deepening on the contract. However, he's been on the trading block for two, or three sessons, so that's concerning.

If I remember correctly NY wanted a high first round pick for him.

I will continue to think that this team would be better with a C that can shoot 3s, especially if OO doesn't start to hit 3s this season.
I wanted a rotation of Turner/Collins/OO years ago, and I'm sure that with the speed of Trae and shooting from the other, it would be more efficient than playing with a giant C who is slower.

If Trae is supposed to be Nash, let's remember that PHX was better when Shaq and Nash were not sharing the court.

Of all the failed trade targets of the Travis Schlenk era, Jrue Holiday is probably the hardest to get past. Dude would have been perfect for this team, this locker room and this offense.
Look at the shooting numbers from the corner!!!

Remember when we almost traded Capela to the Mavs for a lottery pick LAST summer?
