Lebron is gone so yes that pick is in jeopardy. maybe it's our time and we net #6 and #11 in addition to our own.

What if the Cavs acquire Kawhi?

They'd both stick around for one year and walk away in 2019.

But they just might sneak a title in the meanwhile.

NOTE: They'd need a better coach.

I'm not sure they would have wanted to give up 30 unless they were certain that Spellman would have been there at 34.

I would have taken Spell man at 30.. so no guarantee haha

I think that if the Cavs drafted Mikal Bridges, or Michael Porter, they could have not made the best offer, but could have made a decent trade offer for Kawhi, but with Sexton, their is zero opportunity for the Cavs to create a package for Kawhi now.

it can be done....example:
Cavs trade Sexton to a team that desperately needs a PG like the Suns or Magic in exchange for Josh Jackson or Jonathan Isaac going to the Spurs plus whatever else, Kawhi to Cavs.

Better Question: What if Celtics acquire Kawhi?

Seem like perfect trading partners...

Read on Twitter

"San Antonio has informed teams its preferred target in any Leonard trade is the Celtics' Jayson Tatum, sources say. Teams have noted this is likely a negotiating tactic, and it's widely believed in league circles Boston is more likely to propose a deal centered around Kyrie Irving and future picks. But based on previous behavior, the Celtics are unlikely to overpay for Leonard."

Helping the Lakers get Lebron and Cousins...

Deng, 1st round pick, and Wagner (or Zubac or Kuzma) for Cap space.

This happens depending on Kawhi and how desperate the Lakers get in pursuit of Lebron.

If I am taking on Deng, the cost should be a minimum of 2 first round picks.

If we end up being the only team with the cap space to take on Deng, and LA signing Cousins and Lebron hinges on them getting rid of Deng, then we can demand a Godfather type offer from them. Two unprotected firsts and a pick swap in between somewhere down the line, in addition to Wagner.

I've been on the LA message boards, and they seem to be more than happy to do a Deng deal and give up Wagner and draft picks to the Hawks for cap space, the only problem is that they said that Wagner can't be traded for 30 days.

They also said that Lakers' managment is unwilling to trade Kuzma, but willing to trade Wagner or Zubac

What do you guys think about a Dedmon for Capela. They save cap while retaining a useful C. We get a young, quality starting C

Slink mentioned keeping our young surrounded by vets so they learn professionalism. Seems Dedmon fits that role and, as such, is probably much more useful than Capela. IMHO, Capela is a Harden-made concoction. Get him out of that spoonenvironment and he probably morphs into Bismack Biyombo.
