Don't look now, but today that pick is #14. :nonono:

Wtf it was at 9 a few days ago. We need Luka to go down now for the year.

I just don't wanna be Phoenix though, mayne.

Them dudes been chasing the 'next big thing' draft-wise for basically a decade. They have a roster chok full o' lotto picks. They're on their, what, 3rd coach and 2nd GM.

On top of that, they've already max'd out a guy based off the promise of some empty arse nimbers which haven't remotely led to anything approaching any level of consistent winning.

And, after you wade through all that dreck, they are the only team in the West without a remote shot of making the playoffs. Likely this year or next year.

If you can turn one or both the DAL and CLE picks into Beal, you do it and you don't look back.

I get not wanting to be the Suns but we can’t have Beal..it doesn’t fit the timeline. I like Beal’s game and he would be perfect if he was a 2015 draftee vs 2012.

I don't think you realize how young Beal still is. Here's a hint, compare his age to Printz'. Then compare their relative accomplishments game-wise.

And for shats 'n giggles, compare both their ages to your bff, Chuk McCollum.

Beal is less than a year older than Taurean.

Just saying...

NOTE: I consider Beal so much more talented than T Prince, getting that kid in his prime alongside Trae and Collins is a no-brainer.

Ok but Prince won’t be a top 2 player of ours and I’m just saying I don’t want Beal to be our top 2. I don’t know the guy has only not been injured the last 2 years. He seems like a pretty boy that wants stats no hustle. Not my type.

Read on Twitter

New Orleans Pelicans should explore a trade with Atlanta Hawks for Jeremy Lin

Dell Demps may not be able to wait another five weeks or so for Elfrid Payton to return

Image

Jeremy Lin for Solomon Hill, Two Second Round Picks and Cash:

Lin is currently in veteran leadership mode in Atlanta, giving guidance to the Hawks’ point guard of the now and the future, Trae Young. However, Lin is also putting in work during his 18 minutes of action on the court — doing what the Pelicans’ need badly: penetrating, beating defenders off of the dribble, setting up teammates, getting to the line and shooting 42.4% from three.

Atlanta may value the mentoring he provides over the compensation so I’d be ok with upping the ante on Lin, but I don’t think it needs to take a 1st round pick.

Heh, you do love Chuk. It's somewhat unnatural.

Lavine would kill to be as good and impactful as Beal.

If only...

...in an alternate universe, New Orleans could help Atlanta immediately build around Trae Young and John Collins (who is one of my basketball crushes) with this three-way deal.

Image

Obviously, picks would go to Washington as they eat most of the bad contracts in the league — that aren’t already on their roster — but in two seasons Kent Bazemore, Plumlee, Hill and Ian Mahinmi all come off of their books. The Wizards could also gain extra picks by trading Satoransky and/or Kelly Oubre Jr. (and obviously, John Wall). Even Bazemore with that contract could likely fetch them a chance to start from scratch in a wing-deprived league. Though, I don’t see Atlanta jumping the gun, or the Wizards being self-aware enough about their situation

^What picks are the Hawks giving up?
This screams of rushing the rebuild for Atlanta.
I'm only interested in Beal at the draft for the Mavs pick.

Chuck reminds me of my gramps..old school frail but beat ur a$$ in hoops! Agreed that Beal is better than Lavine I’m just comparing the two at the level of success they might have in ruining lottery odds. Honestly let’s forget about Beal and get the Beal of next year at this time. Our huge trade deadline to make a splash is February 2020.

Chuck McCollum>Beal
Beal>> Lavine

IMHO

Stay the course!

My reaction was worse. NSFW type reaction. I kind of want Lloyd to glue Lin to the bench...for fun on the boards

^I'd do it.

I imagine the other opinions here will be mixed.

But I see them as similar caliber players. But Knox is younger with a slightly higher ceiling. He also has an additional couple of years before we have to extend him and will need those years to round out his game.

Prince would do well as a 3 & D player capable of contributing immediately for NYK.

NOTE: The Hawks last playoff team actually featured Prince and THJ as the starting SF and SG. If you find that sort of thing interesting...

I'm ok with trading Printz. I'm not ok with trading him to bring in a rookie with alleged motor issues.

Yeap, thats pretty much my reasoning.

You get someone who is obviously worse player right now, but with high potential and still a lot of time to improve. (First year of his rookie deal)

Also he is perfectly on Trae's timeline.

While we sacrifice ceiling and potential and get a more proven player who can provide immediate impact next year, when we, by all means, are gonna be trying to win.

I'am just not entirely sure. When I watched Prince he looks really good offensively, but I've heard he has defensive issues.. So I'am not really sure he is indeed a 3&D guy.

Prince has the tools to be a really strong defender. And as a rookie on a winning team, he had solid fundamentals under our previous coach.

But on a young, undisciplined team with a rookie HC...there have been some defensive issues. (He notoriously played in a zone defense all 4 years of college.)

But on a more competitive bball squad with more experienced players next to him, it seems like less of an issue moving forward.

Similar to THJ in his youth.

I’m in this boat. I’d trade Prince but I wouldn’t love it for Knox. I really want Jaylen Brown but I hate dealing with the Celts.
