Sounds like Kessler's season is in jeopardy.
Walker Kessler's shoulder injury dates back to his college years
First, know that Kessler’s shoulder has been an ongoing issue for him. “I’ve had a posterior labrum tear on my left shoulder since Auburn. I think the Tennessee game, I tore it and just kind of tried to play through and strengthen it,” Kessler said. “The doctor explained it ... there’s no amount of strength that’ll keep it from slipping out again and again. So he told me, ‘You got to have the surgery.’”

He was already out for the season with labrum tear from Nov 5th.
On the history of his injury
Kessler had surgery to repair a torn left labrum on Nov. 6, though the initial tear happened while Kessler was at Auburn University during the 2021-22 season. It’s not uncommon for minor tears to be dealt with non-surgically, instead focusing on strengthening and stabilizing the surrounding muscles.
But, Kessler said that things weakened and got worse this season, which is when he was told that surgery would be necessary so that he wouldn’t risk injuring other parts of his shoulder (rotator cuff, anterior labrum, etc.).
