Nice find, Jayu.

This is pretty eye-opening. I'm watching very closely how Quin and Onsi address this relationship.

jayu70 wrote:Zaccharie Risacher opened up about his complicated sophomore journey.

“It was a pretty frustrating season because the playing time I got just kept decreasing,” the former top draft pick confessed regarding his dynamic role change.

When asked about his relationship with the coaching staff and the communication surrounding his benching, the wing player admitted to feeling somewhat confused by the sudden rotation shift.

“You start to feel it a little. It’s not as clear as I would have liked,” he mentioned.

“I belong on an NBA court. There’s no doubt about that. I have confidence in myself,” he stressed.

Now focused on the upcoming games with the senior national team of France in the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, Risacher arrives at training camp with renewed motivation.

“I’m joining the national team, eager to get back to playing basketball, I’m hungry for it,” he stressed.

Since ZR lags greatly as an on ball playmaker, Zacch needs to become a lockdown defender, rebounder and Catch & Shoot target to rremain a viable NBA starter.

Zach got to average 20ppg to validate his #1 draft selection.

If he can just get to 16 ppg and 6 rpg, we can silence those 'Bust' allegations once and for all.

Feels like a lifetime ago.

But this is the manner ZR needs to be used, or it isn't worth having him on the roster.

(He'd be dominant next to Luka or Jokic.)

He averaged 12.6 as a rookie on minutes restrictions...then just a wierd 2nd season with balloons CJ and NAW, and JJ forcing passes to OO 8-)

Without Trae, both of our least talented offensive players (Risacher/Dyson) took a mighty step back on offense.

It's not a coincidence.

HOT TAKE: That Flemings-Risacher partnership is now the most important pairing on this team IMO.

How's Risacher compare to Jalen Johnson in year 2? How would you feel about him if he'd been picked 8th?

ZR's future with the Hawks depends pretty greatly on how he meshes with Kingston Flemings.

I'd bring them off the bench together to start the season.

Spoiler:
Fred Fauthoux, head coach of the French national team, on Zaccharie Risacher:

"Zaccharie's mindset is excellent. I was able to talk with him a lot. He was understandably frustrated by his end of the season […]

In the last training sessions, I saw the Risacher from a year ago."

"I'm finding the Zaccharie Risacher I knew!"

Onsi also mentioned it in his pre-draft presser.

A member of the Hawks staff made the trip to Pau for Zacch "Yes, someone came. To support me first and foremost, and to remain at my disposal if I need additional work. This expertise is super important" Zacch will go work in Vegas after the EDF

That is a huge relief.

And it's the kind of small, private support the franchise should be offering a young, high-profile player coming off of a rough year.

I really want ZR and KF to hit things off.
(I suspect that Cameron Carr was (foolishly) not drafted by Atlanta because of the massive overlap in skill and play type with Zacch. I hope that decision pays off for all parties.)

I need Zacch Risacher to be a serviceable starter around the NBA for multiple years.
