But the missing part of your equation is that he's not a cheap player to acquire. Right? There's only so much you can justify giving up for someone you consider to be part of the bench. Right?

Sixers aren't thinking straight right now - they gave up 2 FRPs including Miami one , 2 SRPs, and Shamet for Harris. I don't think it's outside realm of possibility that they offer a FRP and Fultz for say Dedmon and Prince -- and if a FRP is in play I can see Schlenk at least thinking about it

Spidey sense noticing that Chandler Parsons talk has been quiet, perhaps awaiting MEM moving or not moving Conley and Gasol.

Bazemore hopes his fear of leaving Hawks doesn’t come true and other trade notes

Image

Inside the Hawks’ film room, head coach Lloyd Pierce and his players had candid conversations surrounding the NBA’s Thursday trade deadline. The main lesson that echoed in the room is that until the deadline, the control that each player covets is nonexistent.

Pierce told the players about his conversations with general manager Travis Schlenk during the past couple of months about rumors, speculation and thoughts on how to improve the Hawks. The transparency is something that Pierce believes every team should focus on when it comes to trade rumors.

So with the deadline looming, the team went around and talked about how to process the possibility of getting traded. Miles Plumlee, who has been dealt four times, spoke. Vince Carter and Justin Anderson, both traded twice, shared stories. Kent Bazemore, who was dealt from Golden State to the Los Angeles Lakers, spoke about the positives about getting traded.

Bazemore said there’s always a small burden that evaporates when the deadline passes, and he’s hoping that’s the case on Thursday. Uprooting his life now would be difficult with his wife expecting their first child in the coming months. He feels deeply rooted in Atlanta and wants to be a part of the team when the Hawks get back to the days of 6o wins and playoff runs.

“It’s been fun to grow in a place where all the stars have aligned,” Bazemore said. “Even if I was traded, I’d probably live here full-time. It’s home to me.”

As for what he’ll be doing the night before a possible trade could become a possibility, Bazemore planned on relaxing the best way he possibly can.

“I’ll probably be laying with my wife and the puppies and feeling the baby kick and just hanging out,” he said.

It'll be really hard if Baze gets traded. Just like Korver all over again. But I can also see hanging onto to Baze. He'll have to get used to a bench role though, but i think that'd be the case most anywhere.

Hope Baze stays with the team. Obvious he doesn't need or desire a move right now.

Is it possible no trades will go down with the Hawks? The clock is ticking.

I followed Lin here and would love to see him stay although I think he can bring value to the team in the right trade. I kinda think Lin wants to stay though I'm not sure.

I wouldn’t be too upset with chillin... our vets are still pretty valuable in coaching up the youngsters and there’s no reason to take a bad deal. Honestly, if Lin and Dedmon can be had for reasonable contracts next year I’d keep them. I was hoping to trade for Fultz and sign FA Dedmon in the off-season for a reasonable salary, but I guess if we really want Fultz we will have a chance after the season. No doubt Philly won’t offer him, so we’ll see what his value is on the open market.

We are 12-12 in the last 24 games and getting better as the rooks learn. I’m counting CLP as a rook, too and you can see him maturing in his role each game. We’ve got a good future, don’t take a bad deal if you don’t have to.

Scratch that, I thought next year was a QO year for Fultz. Philly will be desperate to unload him this offseason. There will be a better deal then if we want to kick the tires on him.

Frustratingly funny. I also don't even see a place on next year's team for Dedmon. With Len and a drafted C, not enough minutes and his cost won't fit for the Hawks. It's cool, he'll help us with the PO run

Hard to believe TS can't nab anything for Dedmon and/or Lin. I'd take exp and a late SRP at this point. They really aren't important to the grand scheme

More seriously...

If Mack is in, then it would make some sense if a Lin trade is about to go down, no?

(EDIT: Oops... yes, I agree, Jay. Didn't see the comment.)
