Is it true that the Seees have to part with Crowder and either Smart or Bradley?

I think it's pretty clear that Crowder is gone. What I'm not sure about is whether or not it'll be him and one other dude.

Just saw a name on the T&T board. Julius Randle. I don't think we necessarily have the PF position figured out even with the Collins pick, and Collins can slide over to the 5 with his length. Would anyone be willing to take on Deng to acquire Randle? I think the kid has plenty of upside that we definitely need.

Smart and Bradley are Danny's boys, he's got a greater attachment to them being his own picks than Jae, their defense offsets Isaiah, and they need their Guard depth around Isaiah. I doubt Ainge is worried about extensions as they are done in free agency, plus he needs contract filler for trades down the road.

J Crowder would be a very nice add

As far as I'm concerned, LAL would have to pay us to take Randle. I certainly wouldn't want him as incentive to accept Deng.

No on Randle - what does he do well? especially to take on Deng. Just not enough incentive.

^I really like Randle. So I'd be onboard to do this, rehab his value, and then ship out in trade for a better asset.

In other news...

The team could, however, get (much) closer by renouncing cap holds for players like Tim Hardaway Jr. and Mike Muscala but flipping Crawford through trade or buyout would seem to be a more logical pursuit.

Randle and Russell would be incentive to take on Deng but welp. Maybe Nance Jr. or that Zubat kid.

Plus a future 1st.

I mean he did put up a double double in his sophomore year in less than 30 MPG. The kid has a lot of talent and upside, and in our position, we could definitely use any talent and upside for the future. We would be taking on salary, but let's be real, this isn't a one or 2 year rebuild, and we could use as many talented prospects as possible.

Word from last summer:

Any chance we make an offer to INdy for Sabonis, Jr. Seems he will likely be excess baggage in that young frontcourt of Myles and TJ Leaf.

Do you guys think Hawks should throw a big offer at Noel? I would. I think he's legit and that Schlenk can add pieces during the next two years to make the Hawks commpztitive with a lot of upside

Saw this on Celtics board from a poster...no link though
First of all, Ainge is targeting an Atlanta second round pick for Crowder.

You're not wrong. I guess I worry about his actual impact on winning especially since he's a bad defender supposedly.

If that's the price I'm down to pay it. Crowder could probably be flipped for even more after a year of being showcased in Bud's system.

Scalabrine on NBARadio this morning trying hard to sell UTA on sign 'n trading for Crowder. He's so shameless.

Funny thing is he also said, if Hayward takes about $300-thou less, they can keep all 3 guys (Crowder, Smart and Bradley). Way to endear yourself to your new teammates, Gordo.

Sources told ESPN that Boston has discussed trade concepts involving Smart, Crowder and Bradley with at least half a dozen teams on Wednesday.

Methinks Scalabrine may have misspoken:

...even if the team renounced the rights to Jonas Jerebko, James Young and Gerald Green, waived Jordan Mickey, left 2016 first-round pick Guerschon Yabusele in Europe this season and traded Demetrius Jackson's partially guaranteed contract and Terry Rozier, Boston would have $29,444,533 to sign Hayward, which is still about $300,000 short of his max.

The Celtics' payroll could soar to $150 million next summer if Bradley, Smart and Isaiah Thomas are all brought back, and Boston could have a luxury tax bill of more than $70 million.
