Alot of mock drafts have moved Risarcher into the #1 spot

Makes sense if the Spurs like him for 4 Clingan & 8.

It's a smart move by the Hawks. If possible they should try to squeeze a FRP into the deal. Maybe get the Spurs to give back one of their draft right yrs.

As useful as Clingan plus another pick would be, this makes me think the Hawks Front Office makes the safest, most obvious selection and takes Sarr #1.

It'll be a really bold move to do anything else. And they have been reluctant to make bold moves since the Murray trade.

Clint Capela will eventually be traded to a contender is what I think happens. He's going to have more success. I've really enjoyed watching him play over the years but we need to move on.

No it hasn't, we can't give stock into irresponsible NBA journalism. Shams and Woj can't get here soon enough. With that said, if the Hawks could trade down for Sarr, that would be awesome.

That's not the takeaway. (And yes, this feels like a planted story.)

But if we can't be sure that Clingan will even be available at #4, we can't trade with SAS ahead of time.
Unless we:

A) draft Risacher #1 overall
B) then gamble that we can trade back for Clingan after the fact.

The risk being that we could miss out on both Sarr and Clingan in that scenario. :banghead:

This is very exciting.

I mean I'm not sure what your argument is per se. My thing is why all the reports about everyone wanting to move up for Clingan and Zac while no mention of Sarr.

I don't think that Hawk's nepo baby FO ever knows what it's going to do or what it's doing. Like when the Hawks won the lottery and dumbace Landry said in interviews that he couldn't comment on what the Hawks would do.

I'm just a dumb fan, but I already had an idea of who I would draft #1 or at #10 or if I would like to trade it for more win now.

Landry just comes off as dumb and unprepared. A more intelligent answer would have been to mention a couple of names at the top of the draft list and then to say that despite loving those guys we're always open for business. Instead he says that they are just surprised by the lotto luck and have to analyse...like I didn't prepare for this :noway: :noway: :noway:

:-?

For the exact same reason that this is considered a weak draft class.

NBA Scouts, Coaches and Executives don't believe Alex Sarr will be very good.

So why don't the mocks and expert consensus propose a #1 that they think will be good?

...there isn't a player the equivalent of a true #1 overall pick this year.
