It's difficult to see whats next without knowing what return we have to work with. I do know the young Hawks have been signed to far too much money that they possibly won't ever prove worthy of.

Mainly just J Collins and D Hunter, right?

Huerter and Okongwu seemed aptly compensated for their projected roles in the NBA.

(I am concerned about how much Jalen is going to pull in his rookie contract extension next summer.)

Thoughts on sending Dejounte and Capela to NYK for
  • RJ Barrett,
  • Immanuel Quickley,
  • Isiah Hartenstein
  • and a bushel of draft picks?

It would need to be an actual bushel of draft picks considering the players we would be getting in return.

No I wouldn’t touch Rj Barrett with a 10 foot pole. Negative player and not worth his contract.

I honestly don't get the hype for Barrett. He is a chucker with bad percentages and he can't defend. We already have one of those.

Yeah agreed and Knicks have been better when Barrett has been on the bench 3 seasons in a row. They improve a lot defensively when he’s not playing and he’s not great offensively either with his inefficiency.

Agreed.
RJ would seem to overlap with Hunter while getting paid more. Or will he start at SG. Is his offense and defense good enough next to Trae?
Quickley this past offseason was seeking at least $20-$25 mil per contract. He can't start next to Trae, so are we paying him to backup Trae at PG at that amount?

I feel the same.
I have zero interest.

Hey guys, would love your thoughts on the trades I posted here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2343703

Consensus thus far seems to be we may need to reign in the expect value, but interested in exploring that general framework

If you visit the trade board, prepare yourself for Trae trades.

Popular thought is either Trae to Orlando or Trae to SAS for our picks back.

Trae to Phoenix for Devin Booker is the only Trae trade that makes any sense for us. Everything else is awful or a rebuilding option and that's not an option. Atlanta would just let him walk in that case. He still sells tickets and that's hard to do in Atlanta. Hawks are profitable and that's only due to Trae.

I'm a Laker fan, well Kobe first then Laker fan :) always have to mention that lol and I come IN peace :)

Lakers not trading AD, Bron sadly OR Reaves they out of the question Reaves maybe for a super star type player? maybe? depending on the trade etc

I know you guys are not trading Young OR Bogdanovic?

I'm not sure you guys willing to trade Capela but how about

DLO+RUI for Capela? Rui can't be traded until Jan 15. Lakers need another big hopefully along side AD

DLO Is not Laker material and not many of us want DLO. Great player/talent but again not Laker material can give you 30 any given night, but again not Laker material.

What you guys think? I know It's probably a long shot
My Go Team
Magic, Jordan, Bird, Duncan, Shaq

My Fav 5 by position
J Williams, Kobe, Carter, Dirk, Shaq

Lakers future white boy lineup
Luka, Reaves, Knecht, Laravia, Lauri

Nobody wants DLo and we don't want Rui.
Unless you have a great deal of first round picks I wish you the best.

Immanuel Quickley is who we needed to pursue and the league is about to find out why now that he's in Toronto.

Sixers fan here- what are Hawks fans thoughts on Saddiq Bey? Is he viewed as a long term piece that will be resigned in the off season? Or is he very much available?

I'd say he's available, but I doubt he's given away. We got him for 5 2nd's, but I'd expect the return to be a protected 1st.

I was thinking Jaden Springer, KJ Martin and 3 2nd’s

Return to Atlanta Hawks
