Re: 2019 NBA Draft Prep
Whether it's Coby, Sekou or Reddish...we need to draft the best player available.
They could make a valuable trade asset in the near future.

Agree with BPA always but drafting Coby would put us in a more vulnerable situation of needing another team to step in and help facilitate a trade with us. Any other player, we are probably drafting for ourselves.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Prep
Who do you guys think that Lloyd and Trae would want to draft? Obviously they have a say in it but ultimately it’s the colonel’s final call. But if it were just up to them, who do you see them liking?
Trae: Cam /ANY BIG
Lloyd: Clarke/ Thybulle
Thoughts?

Top-10 Secret: Goga Bitadze (Georgia, C, 1999)
NBA teams know about Goga Bitadze's breakout. It's put him firmly on the first-round map. The idea that he's one of the draft's top 10 prospects isn't as widely acknowledged. The center took a step forward with his finishing versatility off post-ups, rolls and drives, showing improved footwork, timing and hands. His shooting has been equally exciting, as Bitadze is a combined 30-of-76 from three-point land, showing persuasive shot balance and fluidity.
Questions over his athleticism, particularly his lateral foot speed, cause the most hesitation when evaluating Bitadze. And it's possible he's never a plus defender able to switch or lock down in space. He isn't completely stiff, however. And he offers enough shot-blocking to hold value as a rim protector.
With 6'11" size, some mobility and budding inside-out skill, Bitadze deserves to crack the draft tier that includes Texas' Jaxson Hayes, Gonzaga's Brandon Clarke and Kentucky's PJ Washington.
Lottery Secret: Chuma Okeke (Auburn, PF, Sophomore)
He's a borderline lottery pick in my book, full strength or not, though it wouldn't surprise if Okeke goes in the 20s or 30s after tearing up his knee.
Depending on the team doing the evaluating, his injury shouldn't impact his draft grade too much, assuming doctors reveal no permanent damage. When healthy (presumably to start the 2019-20 season), Okeke could be a valuable frontcourt player for his potential to stretch the floor and effectively guard multiple positions.
The 6'8", 230-pound big shot at least 38.0 percent from three in both seasons at Auburn. Aside from shooting, he also ranked in the 87th percentile on cuts and the 92nd percentile on post-ups, showing the ability to capitalize as a scorer off movement or moves.
Defensively, the advanced scouts will love his 3.6 steal percentage, typically a positive indicator. Okeke covers ground with quick feet for reacting and switching.
Even without All-Star upside or the health to play next season, Okeke deserves looks in the top 14. He's a textbook fit based on certain skills and strengths that appear likely to translate.

Methinks you may want to give up the dream of drafting ol' alligator-arms.

Get on the Goga-wagon, mayne! He's even from Georgia so he'll feel right at home, right?

I am not a fan of judging prospects based on things like wingspan. Especially big men, where standing reach seems more pertinent.
But Clarke's arm length is such a hindrance...
He's built like a SG but wants to play Center in the pros?

Y’all forget Kevin Willis? He couldn’t pleasure himself or pay for dinner but is a top 10 hawk of all time.
Don’t measure a man’s wingspan but rather his heart.
Gimme Clarke all day every day.
Ps Kg, I can’t back Bitz cuz he looks like a guy that is the best player on the floor...at your local Y.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Prep
Why do people put more weight into one day of 1v0 practice than one entire season of 5v5 Basketball? When will people stop trusting these pointless workouts
These kinds of workouts are perfect for a guy like Reddish who can shoot and dribble a bit. It would be troubling if he didn't look good

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Prep
I'm reaaalllly starting to warm up on the idea of getting Goga. Even better if we can trade back for him and obtain another asset in the process.

re Dominique, he grew up 30 minutes from Bertie and it took him 4 months to figure out that Baze was from the same part of the state.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Prep
I am starting to like Rui Hachimura more at 8. I saw it somewhere and thought about developing him long term to play the 3. Bring him off the bench at either forward spot to start.
Yeah, he’s a 21 year old rookie, but I think he still has a ton of potential. He’s the high potential pick at 8. The X factor for me is how everywhere I look it talks about his work ethic. I think he could be a unique player at the 3 and with work be good enough to defend on the perimeter. He’s still developing his feel for the game despite doing so many things well.
The foundation for a star is there. He could immediately be effective off the bench with long-term All Star potential. I think he could be a 24+ ppg scorer with time and especially here in a high pace offense with Trae Young.
