Feeling more and more like we'll take Trae Young. I wouldn't hate it, but please don't do it at 3. Either find a decent trade-back for him or trade up with our second pick.

Also, don't do it if Doncic is on the board at 3.

Ya me too...I still want Bagley most but Trae might be the guy.

Nic Batum thoughts on Bamba. Always interesting when current players have thoughts on prospects.

Atlanta Hawks

Draft spot:
No. 3 overall pick

The Hawks initially sound like an odd team to move back. They're in the middle of a hardcore rebuild and don't have much talent on the roster. If anybody should just take the best player available and develop them, it's Atlanta. However, count the Hawks among the teams discussing a potential move back, according to a report.

The Hawks recently had Mohamed Bamba in for a workout and the franchise came away impressed. This could just be the Hawks doing their due diligence, but if they're smitten with Bamba's unreal size and length then maybe they're considering moving back in the draft to take him. At the Hawks' current position, getting a player like Doncic, Bagley or Jackson would be possible. If a team like Dallas really wants to move up and get the best player available, while maybe dumping off a veteran to create cap room, then Atlanta can be that team.

Atlanta can be very flexible on draft night. The best part of an early rebuild is that the recipe for success isn't complicated: Just add talent, gain assets and build for the future. That's all the Hawks have to do and sometimes the best way to do that is by moving back in the draft

If we were to miraculously find a way to get #3 and #4 in this draft...is this the pairing you'd go with?

I think I'd prefer Young and JJJ as they would pretty perfectly complement each other. Trae would feed Jaren for so many easy buckets...it'd be the new ager Stockton/Malone.

And JJJ would cover up so many of Trae's offensive defensive mistakes...that'd be a fun duo to watch grow together.

:banghead: Why JJJ? He's Marvin Pt. 2

I would take Bagley and Bamba or Young and Bagley or Young and Bamba. But I wouldn't touch JJJ whatsoever in the top 5.

We can’t afford to move back Brad. You know this as well as me. We have no face of the franchise and it can’t be Wendell..fans will riot!

This isn't true...

I didn't even include him in my top-10 list for this draft.

You guys must be confusing JJJ for Wendell. Not hard to do, I guess, when it comes to two meh prospects but let's not make any false attributions here.

Trying to figure out which of the two will be a better NBA player, JJJ or Wendell, is like trying to figure out who will be better Horford or Noah when they came out of Florida. Just like Horford and Noah, i think both JJJ and Wendell will be good NBA players, but neither will ever be in the conversation for MVP in the future, unlike Doncic, Bagley, or Trae, who have an outside shot of being a top 10 player.

This is true. I actually admire how vociferously Jamaal has beaten the Wendell drum despite the fact that there's next to no chance that we end up with him :)

Jamaal likes Wendell yes we all knew...Brad likes JJJ...Jamaal is Brad and Brad is Jamaal. So if Brad likes JJJ, wouldn’t there stand a chance that Jamaal likes JJJ?
