I hate f*kin tanking. Trae made some poor shot choices in the 2nd half but that is no excuse for him being benched in the 4th. I am glad Trae has a cool head. A hot head like me might have told coach Pierce to shove it when he put Trae back in the lineup with less than 3 minutes to go.

We should have at least tried. Tank Commander Pierce showed up tonight. I am not saying we would have won. But I think a damn sight closer than what the game ended up being.

Not enough assists and we got outrebounded - Collins had 2 rebounds.

This was a tank game sorry folks, but it is what it is.. The Collins rebounding numbers is just a crazy number with how hard he was banging down low.. crap happens tho

Trae sat 75% of the 2nd quarter.. This was a surrender game

He also played the entire 1st quarter which is unusual.

Trae does not need to take so many shots. I wish he would just run the offense, and allow the scoring to come naturally when it's available. He forces it way too much.

He's been great about that lately. However, the offense sucks without him. I don't like chucking up shots but it was ugly. Nothing ventured otherwise, I had no problem with it.

Trae was pretty bad after the first quarter. It happens. I can't be too critical of these types of games when the rest of our team is so offensively challenged. But I also don't have a problem with Pierce taking him out.

I get that coach Pierce has his rotations, but I really don't like him sitting Trae for 6 mins to begin the second quarter after he dropped 18 without blinking in the first. Feel out the situation and ride the hot hand. That's one of the main gripes I always had with Bud as well.

Trae was feeling it until he wasn't. After that early explosion of going 7-8 from the field he went 3-17 the rest of the way, including chucking up some UGLY 3-pointers that didn't fall.

John Collins with only 2 rebounds is shocking. When I looked up in the 3rd quarter to see 0 rebounds on the scoreboard for him I thought it was a typo at first. Trae picked up that slack with 9.

All in all, I'm satisfied with the loss, but I'll never get behind a blowout at home.

Also, Bazemore is hot garbage. Dude is a tank commander supreme, and I don't even want him on the team as a bench piece after his contract expires.

Lillard was just as hot and he sat even longer in the 2nd. When guys play the entire 1st quarter they need some rest. Especially when they're carrying the load on offense.

Him and Dame were going at it.
Loved it!

Missed the game. Looking forward to catching it tomorrow. Saw the boxscore. Trae is must see tv. His rebounds exceeds his dimes tonight? This I gotta see. This kid has heart for days. Did he lead us in boards tonight? Read in the other Bird post that Collins had 2 boards???

Go Hawks!

Several of you have already made comments that I agree with, but my take:

I don't subscribe to the "this was a tank game" mentality. I thought they were trying to win and I thought it showed by Trae playing THE ENTIRE 1st quarter to match Dame. The problem was, of course, that he then needed to sit an extended time in the 2nd to rest and honestly, when he came back, all his shots were short. It looked like he had tired legs. Either that or he was just way off due to the rest. Either way, playing the entire 1st, while fun has heck at the time, probably wasn't the best for Trae's game.

As for his overall game, I really felt like after the first half of the 1st quarter I was watching a Trae game from November with the bad shot selections. He was really chucking and I thought not playing within the offense. I wonder if all the ROY talk is getting to him because he seemed to be forcing it, imo. Overall, just not a great game for him, which speaks to the high expectations he's set.

I know I said I didn't think this was a "tank game" per se, but I will agree that sitting Len and resting Prince was likely a premeditated tank move. I just don't think the in game play / rotations were called for the puspose of tanking.

It was a tank game. The directive has been sent down from Ressler: do not pass Dallas. Posted Thursday by TP on his IG account: “Everything you see is not everything you see #LIE”

Watching the game this morning and I’m currently midway through the first. All that smack Kanter talked about the Hawks earlier, John Collins packed it in a block and shoved it straight back to sender.

And Trae is not being guarded as soon as he crosses midcourt, at the point us Hawks fan call “the 4 point line.”

GET IT!

Back to the game!

Trae won the jump ball vs Mo Hark and he had 9 boards. Smallest dude on the court. His floater is looking like his signature shot but he’s got mid range and as we’ve all seen, the 3.

We were in in for 3.5 quarters tonight. Too many fouls in that 3rd to take ya out of our transition O.

Shout out to Justin Anderson who goes 110% every time. Nice block and that sweet behind the back flip to Collins.

Looking forward the Bucks tomorrow! Giannis in? I know he tweaked an ankle or something.

Go Hawks!

I don't know whether it was a tank game or not but Trae has to play better in 2nd halves of games...our bench was brutal...can Baze play basketball anymore? Did Alex Len play?
