AD should be relatively easy to acquire. Match salary and add a first round pick.
Hawks won't do anything until they see how Trae Young performs with his teammates.

I gotta be honest:
KP + Asa Newell + the Cavaliers Pick seems like a solid trade for Anthony Davis.
AD - OO - JJ - Mo Gueye would probably the best front court in the Eastern Conference, right?

AD is almost 33.
He does not shoot from three.
He is injured as often as KP is ill.
He is 2 years older.
And he does not shoot from three.
In addition, he still thinks he is a PF, which is why the Mavs have Gafford and Lively.
Since he is playing C, like 6 games ago, the Mavs are scoring a lot more in the paint. Prior to that thy we unable to get space and so get paths to the basket,
Will he be happy playing C? Is he going to be more accurate than 17% from three?
The only trade I would do is one involving Trae and getting back a big defensove guard who can set the rythm and keep the defensive level of Daniels and Nickeil.

There is undeniably some risk involved. But you're not gonna bring a title back to Atlanta without taking a HR swing at some point.
It would be similar:
- To when Miami traded for an aging Shaq...before winning a title years later.
- Or when Pistons traded for a malcontented Rasheed Wallace...before winning a title months later.
- Or when the Lakers traded for a mid career Pau Gasol...before winning multiple titles years later.
- Or when the Mavericks traded for late career Tyson Chandler...before winning a title months later.
- Or when Raptors traded for an oft injured Kawhi....well you get the idea.

AD is a pass.
20 to 30 minutes per game. He has played 10 games this season and makes probably over $20m more than KP does per season. I don't see value here. I see a gamble!

Re: Anthony Davis?
Trading NAW is a non starter for me...not for an aging, injured AD, anyway.
CBS SportsThree Eastern Conference teams emerge as suitors for AD
What could a Hawks trade look like?
Atlanta sits at 14-11 and has fared surprisingly well without Trae Young, who has been out with a knee injury. While there were rumors of Young being on the trading block, ESPN reports that the Hawks think his return could elevate this young core. So swapping Young for Davis is probably off the table. A trade here probably starts with Kristaps Porzingis returning to Dallas, because if the Hawks are getting Davis, they don't need Porzingis in the frontcourt -- especially with the emergence of young, rising center Onyeka Okongwu.
If you add in someone like Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the deal, and some draft compensation to Dallas, that trade would work. But it all hinges on Atlanta's willingness to give up Alexander-Walker, who they plucked from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the offseason and is averaging a career-high 20.7 points a game. He's part of a backcourt with Dyson Daniels that has led the charge in Atlanta's 10th-ranked defense, and trading him could weaken the Hawks on the perimeter.
There's certainly other avenues for the Hawks to get Davis, but all of them require giving up someone who has significantly helped them this season. So the real question is whether Davis is worth breaking up a roster that has performed well for a chance at making a run in the playoffs?

Yep, agreed.
They can take KP and Luke - both expiring contracts.

Ya'll really thinking of taking on near $170M over the next 3 years for AD to not play? And trade valuable assets to get the pleasure
