Rivals matter in the playoffs. We need to be in the playoffs, otherwise it's just noise.
The ownership needs to respect the fans and build a true contender. HAWKS in the playoffs brings life to the arena and the madness. We need to be back in it.

I want us to be the team that beats the Heat into submission and causes a rebuild.
I need to see Atlanta wrestle power away from their long time abuser. :box:

If I'm Landry Fields, I'm keeping a close eye on Miami and Jimmy this season.

Risacher & Kobe vs Brandon Miller and Tidjane Salaun has the chance to be a really fun rivalry for years to come!!!

Southeast Division Champs. Two seasons in a row...

Congrats to Orlando for overcoming injuries/adversity and adding to their collection of Division Banners.

Looks like the Magic have taken over the role of neighborhood bully in the division.

I look forward to a renewed rivalry with this young squad.

It's pretty crazy, man.

Just being a mediocre, competent organization in the Southeast Division should get you to 45+ wins every, single year...

(NBA is definitely gonna demolish the SE Division when Las Vegas and Seattle come into the fold, right?)

I'm just glad it's not the Hawks setting this kind of record.

Indeed.
The struggle to win the division has been the same for the Hawks and Falcons.

Had we won, the team can advertise they won, and most fans won't even care to know the teams record. Below .500? No cares.

Miami to me will be very productive this offseason. Like most teams, they have very few keepers on their team, so they can make some moves happen. Sadly, the Heat own majority of their future draft picks.

It's an overpay...but a perfect fit from a team building standpoint.
Orlando is by far the favorite to win the Southeast division next season.

Snuggs will need to improve his shooting. 40% from the field and 31% from three doesn't justify him attempting 13.1 attempts per game. He turns the ball over at a high rate.

Orlando has improved with Bane. Think possible Jalen Brunson type effect that Memphis failed to use him as. Which, is why he cost Orlando so many picks, which does sem like an overpay.

Orlando has surely taken the reigns in the SE division. The question is, how do we respond, because they're still not that far off.

A Trae Young trade doesn't help us catch Orlando, but we really shouldn't go trading away a bunch of young assets to make an equalizer type of move either. That said, a TY extension for the full max isn't viable as well. On the flip side, this current roster needs a TY leading them.

I personally think we can continue to allow the young guys like Dys, JJ, and Zacch to develop, and catch Orlando later. It will require us to still fix our size problem at the 5, but it is doable.

Two best shooters in the draft now play in the division:

Charlotte is stocking up for a run next season, too.

Sexton provides the Hornets with a much needed shooter.

Their top two options ahoot 40% from the field.

Their 3rd and 4th options shor 43% from the field.

Sexton will be much needed and may take his game to another level with the Hornets.
