We are 'All-In' on player development.

My word. I hope this isn't an 'Over correction' from all those years of 'Win-now' basketball under the last regime.

Schlenk did say that Codinier has expressed an interest in playing for the DLeague team, so maybe it's him. I think Tyler Dorsey will see a lot of time in the DL although he has an NBA contract.

Wiz fan here coming in peace but the Wiz are paying about $31 million for two centers and are facing a tax problem. Sounds like you guys still have the cap space and still need to reach the cap floor.

Does the DeMarre Carroll package work here? Ian Mahinmi + 2019 1st rounder + future 2nd rounder for say Marco Belinelli work? Or even if Atlanta just took Mahinmi's salary without anything coming back.

Or would Gortat on a shorter contract work?

I'd take Gortat's contract since it's 2 years left, and lower than Mahinmi's (3 years left - we already have Plumlee for 3 years) for 2018 1st and 2nd picks.

I can't say yet that Schlenk would have an interest in that deal. He took on Crawford's 1 year contract for a prospect and a pick, if he's taking on guys with that amount of years and money left I imagine he'd have a much higher asking price.

Dedmon / Plumlee / Stone
Muscala / Collins
Prince / Baze
Belinelli / Bembry / Dorsey
Schro / Delaney

Depth chart starting to shape up. Baze might sart at SG, but I like Belini's threes. Moose likely starts, but Collins is going to earn big minutes. A min contract or two and this looks like our 2018 Hawks team.

Still around $14.5 million in cap if we decide to use the cap space before officially re-signing Muscala. There's still a few upgrades that could be made. Or maybe a bad contract that could be taken with the caveat of a first round pick coming our way as well.

I would say there is another PG needed, and probably another pf/sf.

Lakers just cut David Nwaba. I think he's our next target. Only makes 1.3 mill in 2017-18 and then he's off the books. He's a hustler and a great defender. Like a guard version of Dedmon in my humble opinion. I'd like this move very much. Go get him Travis!!!

I wasn't the biggest fan of Thabo after that NYPD incident, but he'll be missed. Especially on the court, where he could have served as a mentor to some of our young wings.

(What a world we live in that Kent Bazemore makes three times as much annually as Thabo.

More than Thabo and Korver combined!)

Jazz fan here. Looks like Thabo is signed to us for 2 years and us fans are universally scratching our heads. He will fit in with his defense but we need someone who can put in the hole following Gordon Haydick cut and run for the Celtics. We already have mentors. What are we getting? Anything to be excited about?

Good luck with your rebuild. I loved watching DeMarre, Korver and Sap playing for you guys. The youth movement is painful as hell but witness the Jazz who...almost made it work.

A healthy Thabo is an effective Thabo - he can hit the corner 3. While with the Hawks he learned to actually dribble the ball, he can make decent plays with the ball.
He's just a smart overall player - he'll always talk to the young players during games about where they should be, a missed assignment. He won't fill Gordon's shoes offensively.

Still waiting for the Crawford buyout details. C-Viv is not very reliable.

1 year/$6 mil for Ersan. It's an absolute bargain for a stretch 4 who shoots the 3 at the clip he does (will also slot in perfectly next to Dedmon) but I have no idea what we're doing anymore. I guess a hard tank is now out of the question (maybe Bud had some serious influence in making this move happen?).

Schröder
Bazemore
Prince
Ilyasova (Bud loves his vets)
Dedmon

That looks like a starting lineup that'll be proficient in Budball. Also featuring a bench of exciting young players (Bembry, Collins, maybe Dorsey). I like what Schlenk has done so far tbh. Still around $8.5 mil in cap space to sign one more player to upgrade the bench.

Ersan fills that 4/3 spot we need and gives us some roster flexibility (he van move down to the 3 and Collins at the 4 if needed).

Just need that last spot...the backup pg.

 Poor C-Viv. He tries so hard...to little avail.

The details of the Jamal Crawford transaction have not been verified. Crawford was eventually bought out and waived. I have yet to receive the buyout figure. The Hawks will stretch the cap hit over two seasons and the cash payments over five seasons. The cap hit for 2017-18 will be about $11 million. Stay tuned for final details.

Ersan will fill in at the 4/5 spot - he is not a 3. He played C next to Millsap quite a bit this past season.

If they aren't planning on playing him at the 3 at all, then I am a bit more hesitant on this.

Our roster essentially looks like this:
PG: Schroder/Delaney
SG: Bazemore/Belinelli/Magette
SF: Prince/Bembry
PF: Ilyasova/Muscala/Collins
C: Dedmon/Plumlee

That is 12 active spots. I am guessing Kaba returns to Europe. If we keep Stone and Dorsey, maybe both go to G-League, then we only have 1 more in-active spot (unless someone like Magette is inactive, then that opens up another true roster spot). We can also have Dorsey and Stone on the roster and just have them be inactive sometimes.

I understand the desire for the experience in Ilyasova, but we need to develop Collins and this cuts down on his PT dramatically.
