It's like, I want to figure out what TF @jamalll just did to us. But, I don't want that in my search history. I feel like he should've given a much better warning on that. Shameful. Dare I say .... #metoo?

Ok, ok, that was too far. No need to trivialize that movement. Self-ban

And, just so you know, that gif puts you back squarely on the kg (s)hit-list. SMDH, @jamalll ... SMDH!

It came on something called Teen NICK years ago.

As the single parent of a pre-teen girl at the time...it helped start some very necessary dialogue. (Eating disorders, school shootings, transgender rights).

It should be required watching for kids 10-13 as they move into middle school.

Seriously. In the same way that the original series was groundbreaking 30+ years ago, the sequel was as well. It even starred many of the same characters from the original show as parents/teachers....

But I digress.

Big Picture: Drake stinks. We're all in agreement here.

Interesting since I'm in that boat right now with kg02 starting middle school. Not sure I want Drake teaching my daughter how to ack tho.

Still though, you on double-secret probation for that gif. When you walk past me in the realgm hallway I'm either gonna 'accidentally' knock your books outta your hand or go shoulder-to-shoulder real hard but not say 'sorry'. Ah, middle school.

Bullying is absolutely covered on the early seasons of Degrassi!!!

It's why Drake's character gets shot and ends up in the wheel chair. Consequences after years of picking on some rando kid.

(Canadians and their guns, right?)

Maybe ABC was offended but most likely they canceled Rosanne because sponsors were pissed. If the sponsors speak up about Bee then she'll get canceled too. Certain people love the free market unless it adversely affects people with their point of view.

Samantha Bee is supremely talented, but she's been skirting the lines of good taste and satire for some time now.

To make these kinds of comments a day after the Roseanne fiasco.

Just unforgivably foolish...And Samantha Bee is not a foolish woman.

She said this to push the envelope.

You can't expect the right-wingers to be more respectful if the leftists aren't willing to do the same.

Although I'm of the stance that there's no reason for her to be insulting towards Ivanka, this isn't the same as making a racist remark. They're not even in the same stratosphere as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly, I find it offensive that people are even comparing the two remarks. Calling someone a c*nt is not the same as calling a person of color an ape.

And, to reiterate, I don't like the fact that she called her a c*nt. I mean, why? Just make your point if you think you have a valid one. I also hated the whole water-throwing incident on the Tomi Lohren chick. What TF does that prove other than reaffirming her (likely) belief that she's above you, so to speak?

Well, I'm not debating the awfulness of misogynistic comments versus racist ones (or homophobic ones or anti-Semitic or islamaphobic ones.)

They're all bad.

And you make valid points. I'm just against unnecessarily crossing that line.

I consider myself an independent, middle of the road person. This feels like a huge double standard.

If Hannity had made a similar comment about Chelsea Clinton or (god forbid) Malia Obama. There'd be h3ll to pay.

So why has there been less uproar when the shoe is on the other foot?

Wrong is wrong.

And you shouldn't go around calling people that word.

Yea, it's a false equivalency. Even in law enforcement (and Chapelle touched on this in one of his last specials) there's a distinction between pushing someone over and saying "F you!" and pushing someone over and saying "F you, you dirty ___!"

One gets investigated as petty assault, the other gets investigated as a hate crime.

I don't consider that a misogynist insult though. Perhaps that's where we differ. I consider it just unnecessarily vulgar. Had it been Hannity saying the same about those you mentioned, I would've been equally upset. Not more upset. Actually, I would've been more upset but due to the fact that it's a "man" attacking a woman. Nothing politics-related.

I should mention though that I call you worse names every time I come on here so ..... maybe I need therapy. :(

1. I live reasonably near Dave Chappelle here in Ohio. I've met him a time or two (Does walking past him in the park count as meeting?) Super nice guy.

2. Claiming it as a false equivalency just further propagates cries of hypocrisy and a left wing bias.

Again. As a centrist...it reeks of a double standard.

TBS will have to take some action. I suspect a suspension as opposed to a cancellation.

Wow. I'd consider it the single worst misogynistic slur in the English language. The fact that it comes from another woman makes it...better?

You trying to tie it to political affiliation smacks of you trying to tout yourself as a centrist.

"I'm soooo centrist that I don't see party lines like you clowns." We get it, @jammmalll. You're superior to us all.

And, yes, a vulgar comment from a man is different than a vulgar comment from a woman. #DealWitIt

I fear we may be toeing the line of ATL Boy's no politics rule.

The outcry clearly has left an impact:

Well, that's where the "equivalency" part comes in and why it can't be considered hypocrisy. The issue isn't "oh they said bad words", it's "oh, one said bad words with a perceived explicit bias". It's why you can easily debate calling Roseanne "racist" but will have a hard time calling Bee a "misogynist" based on their comments.

Call it "left-wing bias" but this false outrage is a typical tactic by both sides whenever they see anyone they champion taken down. The idea is to obfuscate the issue by conflating unrelated issues into it.

^That's a lot of big words I don't fully understand.

Let's all just agree that if any person ever walks on this board and refers to one of our female members with that slur...they get immediately and permanently banned.

lol. Well

1) what's the point of constantly championing education if there's a refusal to use it?
2) RealGM has a language filter.
3) there's no point singling out one word when there's countless examples of innuendos (gosh, couldn't help myself), dismissive tones, and references amongst other words that are used on the boards on a daily basis e.g. Al Horford

I'd like to weigh in as a woman.....a woman calls me a c--- , it's fighting time. Someone calls me the N word or apeface or something racist, I'd probably cry.
I don't get equating the two...one is vilgar and crass the other is plain ole racism. That's tatamount to equating cops killing unarmed black people by saying well black people are killing other black people.

This is what fustrates me....own your own ****, don't try to drag someone else into your ****. Don't try the well so and so said and did so and so. Be responsible for your own actions and live with the consequences.

Ok, off my soapbox and unto our regularly scheduled programming before ATL boy shows up....

So did Drake respond to Pusha-T?
