Heck, yeah. PLUS:

No state Tax in FLORIDA.

He's looking at $20 million+ more in Orlando over the life of the deal (as opposed to the $16.6 million in GA). On an up and coming team that should be pretty good for the next few years.

Just...wow. I'm actually really excited for him.

This may be a blessing in disguise, if we can land a true starting center.

Im not OK with paying im 20 million, but whats our backup plan?

Us offering him $20 million per is a trainwreck.

What'll we have to pay AL...$25 million?

If your player makes more millions per year than points per game...it's a bad deal.

Horford is under his 4th GM, and the best Center he's ever played with is Zaza friggin' Pachulia.

Just asinine. Ridiculously dumb.

Made worse as he always plays with undersized PFs also.

Ben Wallace at least had 7 Foot Mehmet Okur behind him and 6'11" Rasheed Wallace next to him.

Story from two years ago: Horford still waiting on big man help

According to this from @Chris_Broussard the #ATLHawks have also offered Millsap a 4yr/$80m max deal: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/13179917/paul-millsap-mulling-max-deals-atlanta-hawks-orlando-magic

That means AH will get PAID, same with Teague

Paying Teague is pretty much what I'm afraid of.

Complete waste of money in a league filled with PGs and with DS on the bench making pennies on the dollar for comparable production...

I love AL, but there is no way we should be paying him $20 million per...nor Paul Millsap.

I kid you not. With Bud and Wes being in charge for one week...I already miss the frugal ways of Danny Q Ferry.

Not.
Even.
Joking.

Cap specialists:

If we sign PM for $20 million per season, because it's more than the $16.6 million max we can offer through early bird rights...that entire $20 million comes from the salary cap, right?

The cap is expected to jump 20 million in the next 2 years, so, keep that in mind. We are prob seeing the NEW baseline salaries for 15PPG players coming to fruition. So the answer is, if PM gets 20mil, then LMA is saying IM WORTH 25. IMO of course. Same with everyone else.

Butler/Kawahi getting 5/90

AD getting 5/143 million

AH , will command 20+ million.

That means Lebron is worth 30+ which is what hes been trying to get to

in 2 years the cap could be $108,000,000 vs todays 69 million projected...............

So his deal looks bad based on YESTERDAYS dollars, if we sign him for that.

Understood, I was asking in regards to THIS years salary cap to Millsap...we can't afford Demarre or any real upgrades to the bench this year, right?

My issue, as always: Opportunity costs.

No way Millsap @ $20 million > Rob Lopez + Wes Mathews at combined $24 million

No way Miilsap @ $20 million > Wade + Koufos at combined $22 million

No way Millsap @ $20 million > Demarre + Ty Chandler at combined $22 million

Stop going off the deep end. If he were on a different team, he'd be another high ranking FA that doesn't come to the Hawks. At least let free agency start, it's not even 11 am on the FIRST day of NEGOTIATIONS. Looks like everyone is getting paid this year. Sit back and let it
play out.

I don't know who you are.

But I've put in 10 years here at Real GM.

You've been here less than a month.

Chill out....NO ONE is talking to you.

If Sap signs our $80M offer then that means DMC is a lost cause. Better go after K.J. and Jeremy Evans instead. If I'm Carroll there is no way that I accept less than $10M per.

Cool your geek jets. No one is coming for your forum crown. But your constant overreacting and suggestions of dumb moves show you're just an impulsive fan and not the home GM you pretend to be. It's a forum, any comment is subject to a reply from anyone. Go find a better hobby if you're that upset.

I'd be very okay with KJ McDaniels. Though I see him more as a long-term prospect than short-term contributor. That jumpshot needs some work.
