Devin is an expiring contract and it would give us another expiring contract,,,plus getting rid of Marvin's deal would be nice.

Ferry wont even give u Smith for Gasol straight up let alone 2 pieces for Pau

He was willing to give Smith for Pau. He didn't want to give Teague.

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine

Just going online and on SportsCenter: Hawks have agreed in principle to deal Marvin Williams to Utah for Devin Harris to shed even more $

It makes me wonder what Sund attempted to do with Marvin Williams. I think it's safe to assume that he shopped Marvin, but for what? Ferry make something happen in his first week.

Hawks are not trading Josh for a declining Gasol no matter how bad Laker bloggers want him. Ferry is going to use Josh to get Dwight, it is that simple.

It was actually Sund. The report came out a couple of days ago but in the article it said Atlanta tried to do a Smith for Gasol swap after the Lakers had been eliminated from the playoffs.

That Joe trade was horrible. Josh Smith is now running the show. This means fail.

why wouldn't Al Horford be running the show? don't you feel he is the Hawks best player now?

All I know is that we CLEARLY have the best offer on the table potentially for Dwight Howard

Offer Al HOrford, Jeff Teague, and 3 1st round picks over next 2 years

Why in the world would Ferry not put that deal on the table?

And why would the Magic reject that vs the garbage the Nets would offer?

I wouldn't put that offer on the table, if Dwight bails we'll literally have NOTHING. Our team would be John Jenkins and... that's it.

The risk/reward isn't in our favor. Might as well play out this year and try to sell Dwight/CP3/Josh on the idea of taking small paycuts each to field a monster team even better than Miami.

good luck. Dwight wants to be traded because he wants his new team to have bird rights to pay him. He has a new agent that wants to be paid too, so they are very doubtful to take less money.

I believe superstars taking small paycuts (Miami situation) is a thing of the past now. We cannot rely on it, Dallas tried to this year, and look what happened to them.

Dirk says he's retiring in 2 years didn't he? This is why Deron did not sign there.

+1

a Dwight trade is way too risky.... might as well play it safe and just play out the season with the current roaster.

and hey, if you haven't heard, after all the Ferry deals, we have a happy Josh, so Hawks shouldn't have a problem in resigning him. :D

Dwight/Josh/CP is best case scenario. Dwight and CP already got their $100 contract from shoe companies, so i think they will easily take a pay cut

but lets say hypothetically they don't take a pay cut, then Dwight/Josh, or CP/Dwight, or Josh/CP is still pretty good to go along with Horford.

Dwight is not going anywhere if you trade for him, where he'll sign? would he sign for 30-40m$/y less? you mad?

If you trade for him, with that, you pretty much seccure yourself Smith and Howard, and HIGH chances on Paul
