If you're them, you gotta be pissed that you made it, stunk up the joint and basically wasted a FRP.

1. I agree.

2. After 13 years, I imagine the fan base is just relieved to have that NBA long drought finally over.

Pacers have looked much more competitive this year than last.

I give all the credit in the world to Coach Nate McMillan for adjusting to the modern NBA and getting these guys prepped for this series.

I didn't think he had it in him.

I like it when something good happens to the Hawks.

I guess Nate learned from his last coaching gig - you gotta change it up.

2 guys who have checked out on their teams in the playoffs:

Parker, Jabari
Whiteside, Hassaan

Whineside is playing at preseason, gleague level intensity. Is he a-feared of Embiid?

Haha. I'm sexy but not that sexy.

My BIL calls me a few days ago saying, "Man yall need to fire that coach. He cain't win no mo."

I just shook my head. I mean, it's ok that you don't watch our team but even the densest NBA fans understand that we were tanking.

And, for clarity, this is not the BIL who may or may not end up ... missing.

I can't lie. I still love this kid. Even if he's nowhere the star I thought he'd be.

I'd still pursue him this summer.

Does this means they don't offer Cousins a deal this summer?

Good question.

They've been better with Mirotic starting at PF and Davis at Center.

I'd guess they offer a modest deal and go from there. Given the soft market, few teams with cap space and DeMarcus's history of behavioral concerns...Pelicans are clearly in the driver's seat in that regard.

Man, you ain't kidding. Just looked it up and the 2 most used lineups, by far, are their 2 primary starting lineups

Rondo, Holiday, Moore, Davis, Cousins 400 minutes / -2
Rondo, Holiday, Moore Mirotic, Davis 200 minutes / +18

That's a 20 point swing in a pretty large sample size. Although strangely it doesn't look like it was that big a difference in W/L

I was definitely hoping we would have aggressively pursued Mirotic last summer. I thought he would have made a good starting point for a rebuild or a solid trade chip.

I had no idea he'd be so impactful on two different franchises this season.

UNRELATED OBSERVATION: Foreign European born players with good size and 3-pt skills seem to thrive most consistently in the NBA at PF.

From Kukoc, Dirk, Pau Gasol a decade ago to Dario Saric, Mirotic, Porzingis, Ilyasova, Markkanen, Juan Hernangomez today.

A decades long trend that continues to this day.

At 6'9" with limited foot speed...it probably would be wise.

He'll likely be some sort of combo forward -- in the mold of Jayson Tatum, Justise Winslow (and Taurean Prince?)

I read something earlier today about playing Luka at the 4 even if he's running a lot of point. I'd be ok with that.
