Rumor now is that Bostons wants to get into the Millsap sweepstakes after the Butler and George trade and Griffin resigned. Rumor is now, that Boston is willing to give up a pick or even Jaylen Brown, for a Bradley salary dump or sign and trade...

Link?

Yeah, I was looking for that BOS-related stuff too.

Apparently MIN signed Taj Gibson to a 2yr deal so they're presumably out for Sap. Looking like DEN is his last suitor for that max deal. Dude might mess around and be back here on a 1yr-type deal.

Denver will look to dump salary to get George Hill. If the Nuggets are unable to find a third team, they could still look back to the Hawks after the Thursday moratorium

Denver needs to send out a little over $22 mil to work out a S&T. That would take up nearly all of our cap space so they'd need to send something worth our while.

Arthur, Nelson, Barton, Miller, Mudiay would be $22 million

Nelson, Barton, Miller, Mudiay would be expiring by 2018, with only Arthur's contract remaining until 2019.

Not great, but also wouldn't affect the 2018 for the Hawks if it did happen.

Looks like the Hawks will get a sign and trade for Millsap, getting former Hawk Jamal Crawford and Houston's 2018 pick.

Hawks can still try to find a Korver type of trade for Crawford, or he will be waived.

I think it shook out as Houston 1st+Crawford for Washington's 2nd. So we really didn't get a S&T, unless that's the way Denver is trying to off-load contracts onto us with picks/prospects included.

^ another rumor has it that Author is apart of the deal with another draft pick. Nuggets still want cap space to get Hill.

We really won't know all the pieces to this trade, what true and not true, until Thursday

This is kinda underwhelming for me because I wanted some of Denver's players

More like Hawks get something for the cap space generated by letting Millsap go. It's why you never really lose a player "for nothing".

Tell that to Oklahoma City...

Ultimately, this haul for the best Hawk player of the last half decade is...underwhelming.

But it reflects some ingenuity on Schlenk's part. I haven't loved what he's done, but I have been impressed. (If that makes sense.) He's made the hard, necessary decisions. The team has a clear plan and a general direction. This season is gonna be rough.

Dennis might avg 25 ppg on a 20 win squad. Ugghhhh. Why did Bud let things get this far gone?

Dang. I had a whole "Aw Man, Hawks traded Millsap for Jamal Crawford?!" rant all keyed up.

Gallinari ave about 19 pts, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists last 2 seasons...I feel like we should have kept him on..A low end pick and the ability to maybe flip Crawford is not really enough to get me excited about this move. I mean, I dont know much about Gallinari but he seems to be a good player, still this trade might work out in our favor. we will see I guess

Galo would have made the Hawks a treadmill team, again.

With Gallinari, it was a sign 'n trade so he would've had to agree to sign here first. The only reason the trade existed is because he agreed to sign with LAC. The trade was just to make the money work basically.

That and LAC had no capspace to sign him outright. Gallo was not interested in Atlanta either.

Schlenk has already fixed a couple of Budcox's biggest mistakes; DH and letting Sap expire. The rebuild will take a while, can't eat when the cubbard is bare.

Schlenk's job and path is clearly to rebuild the team

Yes, he is. And if we are rebuilding no sense in tying up long term high dollars in players. Low cost good locker room vets to help the young guys is what we would need.
